Job Description

Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a Vice President Marketing, North America. This is a newly formed group from the merger of our Crouse Hinds, Oil & Gas and B-Line divisions. This position will report directly to the President of GEIS North America and will be based in Syracuse, NY.


What you’ll do:

Position Overview:


The Vice President will have responsibility for developing and executing profitable growth strategies for the North American market through segment focused initiatives supported by product life cycle management, pricing, commercialization, and customer service. This position will lead the commercial segment strategy managing two global product platforms, support industrial growth and be responsible for pricing, marketing communications and customer service for the region.


Essential Responsibilities:
  • Works closely with VP of Global Marketing and develops and grows relationships with other Eaton regions/divisions to identify marketing best practices and coordinate interaction with other Eaton divisions where marketing opportunities exist across Divisional boundaries. Ensures that we leverage the full capabilities of Eaton.
  • Demonstrates the ability to drive process improvements: detecting the need for change, proactively gathering requirements, designing, and developing processes, implementing change, and stabilizing process changes to deliver on stake-holder critical requirements.
  • Works directly with the global team to develop strong marketing programs and to ensure consistency across the region
  • Establishes and monitors staff performance and development goal, assigns accountabilities, sets objectives, establishes priorities, conducts annual performance appraisals. Serves as a mentor and coach to the function
  • Promotes and emulates a culture that reflects our Eaton Leadership Attributes & Values which include high performance, inclusion and diversity, continuous improvement, and excellence in quality of work
  • Supports product life cycle management for the region including prioritization of NPI and growth programs
  • Hires, trains, develops, coaches, and builds a marketing team with diversity in perspectives and experiences; expands the team to meet growth goals through internal promotion and external recruiting
  • Tracks and analyzes competition, channel trends, market opportunities, products and activities in the marketplace including development of competitive strategies.
  • Oversees the work of the regional pricing organization
  • Development and execution of the commercial segment strategy
  • Oversees Marketing Communication efforts including the development of catalogs and advertising programs to support approved objectives
  • NPI and innovation partnership with engineering function
  • Support NPI in all product segments in identifying and launching new products
  • Generation and execution of regional growth strategies in close partnership to VP of Sales
  • Sales & orders planning and forecasting accuracy in partnership with sales, product lines, supply chain and operations
  • Oversees, the work of the customer service function


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 (ten) years of related business experience
  • Understanding of customer segments, particularly commercial and industrial, product life cycle management and the ability to develop and execute growth strategies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in channel, brand, and product management, including: the use of modern processes, managing the existing portfolio and driving long-term planning through new product ideation, using the voice of customer
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Superior organizational agility skills: ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports, peers, and customers internal/external to the organization.
  • Breadth of experience, including driving both an organic and inorganic growth agenda, leading through a financial downturn and related restructuring, contributing toward successful complex commercial transactions
  • Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise.
  • A global mindset with the ability to work effectively across multiple cultural and geographic boundaries
  • Entrepreneurial leader with proven track record of leading and developing teams through various aspects of the business cycle (growth, downturn)
  • Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker
  • Experienced in commercial and industrial segments
  • Executive presence, strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work comfortably with peers and in a matrix environment
  • Proven success leading organizations in managerial roles preferably on global basis.


Education:

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution is required
  • An advanced degree is preferred

The expected annual salary range for this role is $191250.0 - $280500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
