Job Description

Vice President, Marketing Communications (Private Equity)


We are a prestigious private equity firm with $37B in assets under management and looking for a Vice President to lead our Marketing Communications platform. This team member will contribute to advancing our fund’s corporate marketing goals with a focus on digital, brand and social media strategies, ensuring the accurate and innovative representation of our firm in the broader investing market.


This role will report to the Head of Marketing and will work closely and collaboratively across the marketing team, including with communications, content and events teams to convey our fund’s value proposition to all stakeholders. This role will work cross-functionally and have exposure to key firm stakeholders including investment professionals, value creation members as well as legal/compliance, finance and firm operations.


The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys both the strategic and executional sides of digital, brand and social media management with strong attention to detail and a track record of working in fast-paced, professional services industries. As a team member, this person is a self-starter who is highly accountable, proactive and collaborative; they have an aptitude for project management and an appetite for conveying compelling narratives.


Responsibilities

  • Drive project prioritization while dealing with rapidly changing business needs and evolving demands
  • Elevate senior leaders at the firm through individualized social media strategies
  • Oversee the firm’s digital presence by managing the funds website and intranet experience, and implementing creative digital strategies that reach priority audiences – existing and prospective investors, enterprise software founders/CEOs and the talent market
  • Work cross-functionally with other key stakeholders to ensure all marketing communications assets are compliant and on-point.
  • Lead the development of creative and design to bring to life our brand across digital, social and other programs
  • Measure results and work to improve metrics in a time bound manner.
  • Enhance the firm’s corporate social media strategy across key platforms and oversee execution
  • Ensure our brand and digital strategies amplify our fund’s broader marketing efforts including thought leadership campaigns and PR by partnering closely with other marketing team members on our content calendar
  • Help develop our firms brand and identity as it grows as a leading private equity fund manager with an increasing investor base
  • Demonstrate effective planning and effective stakeholder management as well as an ability to set and manage realistic timelines


Qualifications


  • Minimum 6+ years of professional experience with a focus in marketing and/or communications experience and/or experience in either private equity, hedge fund, asset management, or financial services or tech industry a plus.
  • Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Creates a broad consensus around strategies and plans by adopting a collaborative approach with team and stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity with thoughtful problem-solving, effectively manage change and promote original ideas.
  • Ability to provide strategic counsel and guidance to team leadership on areas of ownership.
  • Ability to distill complex subjects in visually engaging formats
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Expert in their area of marketing, responsible for training junior marketers and keeping up to date on changes and best practices in their field.
  • Ability to manage and mentor junior staff members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Experience working in highly regulated environments is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
