Job Description

Job Summary:

The Vice President and General Manager (VPGM) is responsible for the overall operations of EAI. The ability to lead, motivate and provide a teamwork environment are requirements for this position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, financial oversight and planning, sales and marketing, business development, billing/collections management, administrative staff oversight, safety oversight, field operations, fleet maintenance operations, customer service operations, and staffing for EAI. The VPGM must understand all EAI operations and possess the skillsets required to make sound financial and business decisions, develop and execute growth strategies as well as meet and/or exceed the profit goals for EAI.


Responsibilities, Supervision, Oversight:

Administration

 Administrative functions, record keeping, and coordinating with accounting departments.

 Responsible for the security, storage, and well-being of all recordkeeping.

 Schedules conducts, and attends meetings as needed.

 Responsible for reviewing the accuracy, processing, and coding of all invoices & billings.

 Supervises the Administrative Manager.


Customer Service

 Supervises the Call Center Manager

 Responsible for setting and enforcing standards for performance.

 Resolves disputes with customers as needed.


Field Operations

 All facets of trucking operations.

 Dispatch and logistics activities.

 Ensure all drivers are within compliance with all DOT, federal, state, local, and company regulations.

 The profitable, efficient, and safe disposal of all waste.

 Supervises the Director of Fleet and Field Operations.

Financial Review & Budgeting

 Prepares annual operating and revenue budgets for EAI.

 Participates in monthly financial reviews.

 Monitors financial performance monthly and makes adjustments as needed.

 Oversees the Capex of equipment, maintenance/parts, and supplies.

 Works in conjunction with the Vice President of Finance.


Fleet Operations

 Fleet maintenance activities

 Ensures that all EAI equipment and trucks are clean and safe.

 Quantity, condition, paint, and sanitation of all EAI containers.

 Works in conjunction with the Senior Vice President of Fleet Operations to oversee the Director of Fleet and Field Operations.


Personnel Management

 Outreach, hiring, and discharging EAI employees.

 Training, development, and Onboarding for all EAI employees.

 Maintains and updates all Position Descriptions within EAI.

 Supervises the Performance Review Process for all EAI employees.

 Responsible for all Progressive Disciplinary Action.

 Conducts Exit and Stay interviews with key personnel.


Sales & Marketing

 Supervises Sales personnel.

 Sets and monitors all sales goals and objectives and monthly quotas.

 Ensures EAI maintains all required information about customers, contacts, and services in a database.

 Supervises the EAI website and social media, its contents, and ongoing updates.

 Assures all accounts are being successfully serviced in all regions.

 Supervises the Regional Sales Manager.


Training & Development

 Responsible for all EAI training, development & onboarding activities.

 Works in conjunction with Executive Leadership for succession planning.

 Works in conjunction with the Sr. Vice President of Talent Management and Benefits to design and implement meaningful training and development programs for EAI personnel.


Safety

 Works in conjunction with Safety Department to provide a safe work environment for all EAI employees.

 Reports all accidents and accident investigations in a timely and accurate manner.

 Regular documented safety meetings with assigned employees.

 Monitor driver Vehicle Condition Reports and supervise equipment inspections.

 Safety observations.

 Works in junction with the Director of Safety to implement programs and to assure compliance.


Qualifications:

 10 years of successful leadership experience in logistics and waste industries.

 Working knowledge of Federal DOT and regional agency regulations.

 Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, train and motivate employees.

 Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) applications.

 Align with and exemplify the stated Core Values and The Pleasants Way.

 Must prioritize in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment.

 Strong financial and analytical experience.

 Excellent written and oral skills.

 Professional training and or College degree.
