Newchip is a virtual startup accelerator that provides world-changing early-stage companies with the software tools, training, mentorship, and the investor network necessary to successfully raise capital, build, and scale their businesses to eventual exit. We're in 100+ countries and have a portfolio of over 2,000+ startups that have raised $1B+ in funding since our launch in 2019.
Do you love Shark Tank? Imagine every day being like an episode but on a global scale, that's what we do. We recruit top startups and we launch virtual cohorts each month from our HQ in Austin, TX, with a goal of coaching each to a point of invest-ability. We then invest in our top program graduates alongside our 6,000+ investor network and support them until their exit.
-We are a veteran founder team with decades of experience, acquisitions and exits under our belts, and we're looking for the next member of our team that meets our core values and that can add their skillset to our melting pot of diversity.
-We are only recruiting driven, entrepreneurial, individuals whom are in it for the long haul to reach an IPO - leaders that want to truly assist startups to drive results that create investment returns to our investors and investor partner network.
-If you're looking to make a difference in the world and learn in 1 year what most learn in 5, we're here to provide the mentorship, leadership, and potential to make that dream a reality - if you're here looking for a 9-5, our company isn't for you.
Apply today to join the 100+ employees in our HQ in Austin, Texas, or join one of our remote teams around the globe at our offices in San Francisco, New York City, Boston, London, Los Angeles, Austin, Miami, Tel Aviv, India, and Singapore.
The Role
Newchip launches remote global accelerator cohorts each month across the globe in the Pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A categories. Due to massive growth in our remote programs during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are hiring more Venture Associates in the above cities to co-lead our cohorts as we regionalize and specialize further by industry and sector.
This role is part of a highly specialized team focused on delivering our core accelerator experience. This role reports to Accelerator Program leadership in your specific industries and works as part of a team of 7-10 to to drive efficiency through experience, process, and technology to continue to enhance our core program experience for our startups around the world.
Each Accelerator Program team manages a number of startups as part of each cohort. You will be individually and as a team responsible for ensuring that each company in their respective program is positioned to maximize their success in the program and with our investor network by bridging the gap between investment, mentorship, traction milestones, and coaching.
You will be responsible for developing, building, and supporting investor partner relationship development and management for your portfolio alongside a team of Venture Associates, Program Associates and other leaders to both coach and guide your startup portfolio to successful funding (and eventual exit to bring returns to our investors and investor network partners).
This is an opportunity for an individual with strong intellectual capacity, analytical skills, a deep interest in investment management, exceptional business acumen, and a solid work ethic to drive the future growth of our portfolio of startups. Given the size of our accelerator, you'll work directly with more startups in a quarter than most Analyst or Associates do in a year.
We're looking for competitive, results-driven "team-players" - emphasis on team aspect because while this is an independently incentivized role, we live and die by the great work and sacrifices we all make together via our various programs to help our entrepreneurs grow and succeed - you'll see some companies fail and some become unicorns, that's just how it works.
The ideal candidate is an early-career self-starter with exceptional organizational skills, a strong desire to learn the ins and outs of venture capital, and the ability to anticipate the next steps in a variety of contexts. This individual should feel comfortable with ambiguity, be able to work autonomously and be energized by "greasing the wheels" to facilitate success.
This role is full-time only, with no contractors or part-time offers. Compensation for the role is based on experience with opportunity for incentive-based compensation, medical benefits, and yearly goal-based bonuses - there is also the opportunity for stock in our company and our portfolio of companies after your initial 90 day ramp-up period.
Roles at Newchip have a Base Salary with paid employee benefits, and success based incentive goals (paid monthly, quarterly, and yearly) in addition to comp band levels based on experience and location in the following ranges:
Total Annual Comp: $140,000-$175,000
Total Cash: $90,000-$125,000
-- Base Salary: $50,000-$85,000
-- Cash Bonus at 100% of Target: $40,000
-- Stock Bonus: Up to $50,000 Per Year ($250,000 Total)
FT / PT: Full time only, no contractors or part-time.
Culture Fit Requirements: A compelling hunger and passion to achieve something great in life and change the world - remember that experience can be gained over time but your passion and drive are what will lead to success. In order to be successful in this role, you must have strong startup knowledge, superb interpersonal skills, and charisma, as well as a hunger to help companies succeed.
You must be willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, able to be humble, trainable mentality, and able to learn on the job- we're looking for people that can not only operate in the chaos of a startup but thrive in it and earn a place on our team. A previous and strong network in startups and the venture community is also a huge benefit and will make you stand out.
You must be hyper-organized, resourceful, and truly enjoys working in a team to achieve the vision- able to proactively reach out for guidance, offer and receive guidance from your fellow team members, and solve roadblocks on your own.
