Overview
North America’s largest wine and spirits distributor, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, is seeking an experienced UX Researcher to join our growing Digital Transformation team. Reporting to the Director, User Experience, this individual will be responsible for helping to define and drive customer-centric design thinking to shape the future state of our digital products, with a focus on the industry-leading Proof® eCommerce platform leveraged by over 100,000 businesses across the US.
As the UX Researcher, eCommerce, you will employ a variety of research methodologies to gather feedback from customers, both internal and external, and deliver actionable insights which enable user-informed decision making by a cross-functional team of business stakeholders, product owners, and designers. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of comfort evaluating qualitative and quantitative data and demonstrate the ability to inspire change with the goal of continually making the user experience more intuitive, accessible, and seamless.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in quarterly development planning workshops to incorporate usability activities in sprint planning
- Influence prioritization of the digital product roadmap based on user needs and value
- Synthesize findings to deliver actionable insights and guidance to key stakeholders, Product Owners, designers, and developers
- Craft engaging customer-facing communications which effectively meet or exceed participation goals for each study
- Configure and manage all studies utilizing a third-party user-testing platform
- Manage sample selection, outreach, and scheduling of participants for various user studies
- Write detailed, customer-centric use cases and user scenarios which incorporate user feedback
- Manage and continually contribute to a growing database of UX research findings
- Design and lead end-to-end user studies which explore topics and answer questions raised by the design team, business, or past research
- Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders, product teams, and designers to derive topics and questions for research
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience executing Qualitative User Experience research studies
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication including executive-level presentation skills
- Experience with leading user testing platforms
- Highly collaborative spirit with a passion for achieving best-in-class, customer-centered user experience design
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience presenting evidence-based recommendations to UX Design, Product, and development teams
- Ability to synthesize and distill large amounts of qualitative data to deliver meaningful and actionable insights
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Practical understanding of traditional and modern research and recruitment methods, UX methodology and design thinking
- Ability to influence and guide others on the value and importance of user-centered thinking and research
- Battle-tested interpersonal and conflict-resolution abilities
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to share research results quickly and effectively
- Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science or closely related discipline, such as, Psychology, Sociology, Interface Design
- Proficient with applications such as InVision, Sketch, Zeplin and Figma
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Scaled Agile delivery and support models
Physical Demands
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
- Domestic air travel infrequently required.
- Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
