Description

The Supplier Diversity Office (SDO) is an agency within the Executive Office for Administration and Finance of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with a mission of serving diverse and small businesses and agencies of the Commonwealth.The SDO is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and well organized individual skilled in training development to fill the role of the Training Coordinator.Please attach resume and cover letter.

Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):

Reporting to the Training Manager, the selected candidate will design, develop, and present trainings for Commonwealth and other public employees, prime contractors, and diverse and small vendors in SDO programs, policies, and IT systems.

The Training Coordinator will:

  • Develop and coordinate a quarterly program of guest presentations from partner organizations.
  • Use applicable learning management systems and registration platforms to generate reports for quality assurance and improvement analysis.
  • Plan, develop, and facilitate regularly scheduled trainings covering the SDO’s major functions and systems. Develop a training calendar and create promotional materials to support each training opportunity.
  • Answer training and policy-related questions and collect feedback.
  • Work closely with other program staff to identify training priorities and to develop and evaluate training solutions for the SDO’s major functions.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assist the Director of Communications and Training in designing and maintaining materials, media, handouts, and curricula for SDO training and policy communication.

Required Qualifications:

  • Phenomenal communication, presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Competent with common software applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Willing to travel to locations within the state to present at various events
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools
  • Experience in training in person as well as in webinar settings to audiences of multiple sizes
  • Proven 2 years’ experience as a public service or corporate trainer
  • Able to work well independently and within other teams and departments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Committed to public service and motivated to make a difference.
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth supplier diversity policies, programs, and procedures;
  • The preferred qualifications for the ideal candidate include:
  • Familiarity with video editing software such as Camtasia;
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures

Special Requirements:

  • Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s license or the equivalent from another state may be required.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the-required experience.*

II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.*

III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*

*Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
