Clallam County is seeking a computer savvy candidate for administrative work for the Vehicle/Vessel Licensing Division of the Auditor’s Office. Incumbent analyzes, regulates and enforces statutory requirements for all state and federally mandated title and registration laws. Assists citizens in licensing, titling and filing vehicle/vessel documents. Collects statutory vehicle/vessel revenues including but not limited to all sales and use taxes. As an agent for the Department of Licensing, verifies all legal documents for compliance of state and federal laws. Insures that Department of Licensing rules and regulations are adhered to along with County policies and procedures.
This position is assigned to the second level of a four-level Customer Service classification series. The Customer Service Specialist II differs from other classifications in this series in that the incumbent is responsible for providing customer service, which is more complex than that handled by the Customer Service Specialist I as it involves dialogue with the customer to obtain needed information, clarify what is desired, and/or determine how service can best be rendered. The incumbent provides information that requires basic understanding and an application of established policies, programs and procedures. At times the incumbent will be exposed to and be required to deal with angry and/or irate customers. Work is performed under general supervision, requiring a moderate degree of independent judgment. This classification is distinguished from the accounting, fiscal and general office support series in that the primary focus is in the area of direct customer service.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), preferably with some course work in general office procedures such as word processing, simple bookkeeping and filing; prior experience and/or training preferred; to perform this job successfully, an individual should have a great deal of computer knowledge and ability.
