Job Description

Preferred Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: At least 5 years of industry experience
Languages: English
Skills:
  • Acts with urgency to meet and resolve pending issues.
  • Ability to work within, and communicate effectively with, customers, all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to work, with minimal supervision, maintaining productively and efficiency when faced with stressful situations, including maintaining effective interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Must have excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Team oriented.
Computer literate; Licenses, software, etc: Microsoft Office, Oracle and Hazmat Certified preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Port Operations
  • Responsible for vessel stowage
  • Responsible for terminal supervisors, drivers and stevedores and all other equipment operators
  • Must complete inspections daily prior to operation on any equipment that you are operating.
  • Maintains close relationship with the Traffic Department Dispatch Department, Inbound Department and Equipment Control Department.
  • Ensures correct vessel loading and meets loading deadlines
  • Responsible for interviewing, terminations and employee performance appraisals
  • Responsible for directing the pre-plan, execution and supervision off all aspects of cargo handling, to achieve a safe, efficient, and profitable operation in a Marine/Stevedoring terminal capacity.
