Under general supervision, is responsible for assisting in the implementation, coordination, and continuous review of various community service programs. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment with occasional exposure to hazardous materials, bodily
fluids, infectious diseases and unfavorable fumes, vapors and odors. May exercise functional and technical supervision over assigned staff.
Work Hours
Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. some varying shifts include evenings and weekends; At the Department's discretion, the work location and days/hours may be subject to change.

Various facilities throughout the City.
This position is an "unclassified" position and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. This position is likewise subject to at-will employment status and can be terminated at any time for any reason.
- Acts as liaison between local agencies concerned with the functions and operations of the program.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
- Participates with agencies and department programs in recognizing operational problems; assists in making required adjustments; and promotes program innovation.
- May assign, evaluate, and monitor completion of tasks.
- Receives, reviews, coordinates, and replies to correspondence submitted by operating agencies.
- Interprets program guidelines, and other policies and procedures for operating agencies.
- May conduct periodic visits to outside agencies and department programs and prepares written reports of observations on the quality of services and program management.
- Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License. Use of your own personal vehicle may at times be required and proof of Liability Insurance will be required. Must complete a valid Defensive Driving Certification with the City of San Antonio by 6/1/2022.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Any applicant selected for this position must have a background check completed with results satisfactory to the City of San Antonio and successfully complete the City of San Antonio's two-phased Cash-Handling Certification Training
- Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in social service or related experience.

- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

- Knowledge of community service programs.
- Knowledge of the community and its needs.
- Ability to make initial determination of services needed by clients and make proper referrals.
