Job Description

Organization:

SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-Valley

Position Overview:

This position is available to work from home in California, preferably within the Sutter Health footprint.

Supports technical standards and testing of Sutter Health policies, systems, and applications. Performs highly complex technical analysis, design, support, implementation, and project management for technology related activities. Ensures performance, reliability, and optimization of specified key production systems and processes. Focuses on the development and implementation of initiatives that eliminate dependence on manual operations and effectively integrate systems and applications with enterprise batch scheduling and enterprise monitoring tools.

Provides technical support to provide service and troubleshoot technical issues with our vast portfolio of intranet and Internet websites and applications in an often-complex infrastructure, sometimes partnering with other technical teams/departments within Sutter Health. Also partners with other teams/departments within Sutter Health or request/order system infrastructure to support upgrades, virtual server replacements, and expansions.

Technical Knowledge: This role will be working with other technical teams/departments within Sutter Health to request/order systems infrastructure where the knowledge of the following is highly desired:
IP, DNS, SSL Certificate, VIP, NAT, Firewall, Monitoring

Operating Systems Desired: Windows Server, Linux

Services: Familiarity with the following services, settings, and administration is highly desired:
IIS, Apache, Tomcat, MS SQL, SharePoint
Knowledge of Jakarta, PHP, MySQL, Web Analytics, and WordPress is desired.

Tools: Text Editor, PowerShell, Command Line, Log Viewers, File Compare Tools are highly desired.
Also knowledge of Splunk, Wireshark, and Riverbed is desired.

Cloud: Knowledge of cloud technologies, deployment automations and pipeline development processes would be a bonus.

  • There will be after-hours on-call support on a rotational basis (1 week, every 4-6 weeks after 6 months of employment).

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Associate's: Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent education/experience

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
2 years of recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Speak clearly and distinctly using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information and explain technical information.
  • Focus on customer service that informs all actions and decisions.
  • Expert knowledge of assisting in the development of processes and procedures.
  • Work as part of a team or collaborate with colleagues.
  • Perform effectively in environments with frequent and fluctuating workload changes, competing demands, and frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
  • Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures in order to identify patterns, tendencies, and relationships resulting in the formulation of logical and objective conclusions.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of information technology concepts.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with audiences across all areas and levels within Sutter Health as well as external organizations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals without the aid of a calculator.
  • Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
