About the Department of Pathology:

The Department of Pathology is a founding department of the Stanford School of Medicine and one of the leading departments in the United States. Our preeminent faculty spans from emerging leaders to highly accomplished physicians and scientists, including a Nobel laureate and members of the National Academy. Our mission is to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and basic understanding of the human disease. This is done through discovery (research), education, and clinical care.

About the Position:

As a Talent Development Coordinator at Stanford University's Department of Pathology, you will be integral to fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. Your responsibilities include running training metrics reports, maintaining compliance with mandatory courses, updating the department's website content, and crafting marketing materials to promote talent development programs. You will manage training logistics, create a streamlined registration process, and occasionally serve as a presenter. Moreover, your active participation in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee will allow you to provide guidance, resources, and best practices to promote inclusivity. This role presents an exciting opportunity to positively impact employee development and contribute to the department's overall success.

This position will have the opportunity to be fully remote. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.

Duties include:

  • Run reports associated with established metrics. Report on emerging trends not specifically requested by program manager.
  • Other duties may also be assigned
  • Schedule related logistics of trainings and programs. Negotiate cost and assure quality of materials, supplies, and end-to-end services.
  • Draft marketing materials, emails, and other types of correspondence.
  • Create, implement, and manage a process for registration.
  • May serve as a presenter to participants on a limited basis.
  • Update website content assuring the quality of postings and processes for multiple websites.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience creating and building in Smartsheet, Qualtrics or other survey/automation workflow systems.
  • Experience in presenting content
  • SHRM-SCP/PHR Certified

Education & Experience (REQUIRED):

Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (REQUIRED):

  • Superior attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to research, extract, analyze, and manipulate results proactively.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to small and large groups in a complex and highly diverse workplace.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of learning and development field.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and web applications.
  • Ability to multitask, shifting between multiple priorities and tasks with a high degree of accuracy.

Physical Requirements*:

  • Occasionally twist/bend/stoop/squat, reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely kneel/crawl, operate foot and/or hand controls.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, and grasp lightly/fine manipulation.

The expected pay range for this position is $80,030 to $95,803 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
