Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
- The primary function of this position is to operate surface analysis instruments for analysis requests and provide timely high quality analysis reports to support process qualifications, Fab tool qualifications and mass production yield improvements
- Includes collaborating closely with Fab Engineering and Process Integration groups to understand customer analysis needs and provide root cause analysis with data interpretation
- Includes continuous improvement development for analysis techniques to meet needs of our customers on cutting edge technologies
Specific Job Duties:
- Aid in root cause analysis and provide analysis solutions
- Able to recognize analysis improvement opportunities and lead projects in terms of quality, improving efficiency and adding new capabilities
- Responsible for daily instrument operation, analysis data acquisition, and providing timely, high quality analytical reports for fab process and tool qualification and for investigating process issues

Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
- 3~5 years analytical instrumentation experience
- B. S. to PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or closely related discipline
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools
- Preferred to have hands-on experience with operating surface characterization instruments including one or more of the following: X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES), Raman/TERS, FTIR, EBSD/TKD
- Understanding or expertise in other surface analysis techniques including: Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy, Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy, Atom Probe Tomography, Scanning Probe Microscopy, X-ray Diffraction
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Python, statistical software
- Previous analytical lab experience preferred
- Excellent problem solving ability
- Proven analysis accomplishments by recent publications
- Experience coordinating maintenance and service with vendors
- Knowledge of semiconductor processes and device physics, solid background on materials physics and chemistry
