Job Description
Summary About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun. Responsibilities Inspects delivery conveyances for safety and environmental compliance. Performs initial transaction processing of all bulk petroleum products. Develops recommendations to specific problems in order to improve efficiency/effectiveness of POL operations. Recognizes problems relating to quality of fuel, proper handling procedures, and appropriate usage and/or disposal of contaminated fuel products. Adapts work methods to meet time requirements within established procurement of fuel products. Evaluate information pertaining to petroleum products. Prepares, edits, and submits supply receipt documents documentation that reflects on-hand balances and location of fuel assigned to the account. Coordinates safety and fire prevention programs and inspections. Coordinates crime prevention and physical security measures under AR 190 series regulations. Provides technical advice and assistance to units and activities on the installation in matters pertaining to POL. Monitor daily reconciliation of fuel dispensed and amount remaining in fuel tanks. Prepare supply receipt documentation to reflect on-hand balances and location of fuel assigned to the account. Receive, review, coordinate, and promulgate policy guidance in the form of regulations, orders, circulars and letters for POL products. Serve as the Fuels Receipt Clerk and Alternate Fuels Accountant. Records serial numbers of seals from conveyance fuel compartments. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing accountability for supply and property management; maintaining supply records in an automated system; advising leadership on supply programs, contract interaction, and logistical guidance within an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Making Inventory Management Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
