Supplier Quality Engineering And Inspection Specialist

The quality inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application. You must be comfortable working as an independent contractor (1099). Relocation is not available. Pay rate will be commensurate with experience. Includes paid training.

Requirements:

Requirements: Candidate must have at least 10 years of quality assurance experience, which includes:

• Must have cell phone.
• Electrical test witness,
• Inspecting machined parts, mechanical assemblies, tooling, cables harnesses,
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications, geometric tolerances, and processes.
• Inspection of printed circuit board.
• Pay rate will be commensurate with experience.
• Qualification test witness
• Thorough experience with J-STD-001 soldering, IPC 600 and/or IPC 610 inspection standards.
• Auditing manufacturing processes to SAE, ASTM or Military Standards,
• Inspection of printed wiring board
• Computer literate in EXCEL and Word.
• Experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing
• First Article Inspection to AS9102
• Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs).
• Laptop computer with newest operating system, Word, Excel and other office programs (not provided)
• US Citizen
• Precision mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers
• Practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
• The following background is a plus:
• Evaluation of printed circuit board manufacturing processes
• Dimensioning and tolerancing per ANSI-STD Y14.5, – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard
• 4 hr. minimum charged per day plus travel time and mileage reimbursement per the GSA standard rates
