Inspection And Expediting Specialist

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Inspection and Expediting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth execution of supply chain activities by emphasizing inspection experience and expediting processes. Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing purchase orders and contractual documentation, coordinating with vendors, managing supply progress, and ensuring compliance with delivery terms. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing inspections, issuing reports, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement a proactive supply chain management approach to promptly identify and address potential causes of delay, as well as mitigate any already identified delays.
• Ensure the timely issuance of inspection reports.
• Conduct or supervise inspections and tests in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan, covering areas such as electrical equipment and cable testing, instrumentation equipment and bulk materials testing, static equipment fabrication and materials testing, and welding processes.
• Issue Non-Conformity Reports and Punch Lists in the event of unsatisfactory inspections.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate updates in the relevant system.
• Proactively identify and manage "dual-use" items to comply with regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure that the vendor's supply schedule encompasses all phases of the supply cycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, inspection, preparation for shipment, and transport, while adhering to contract delivery terms and dates.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between vendors and various functions involved in the supply chain activities.
• Provide vendor performance feedback in accordance with the Vendor Management process.
• Accurately forecast milestone achievements and expected delivery dates to support effective planning and scheduling.
• Collaborate with the team responsible for assessing and evaluating the reasons for delays.
• Support the team in defining vendor variation requests and claims.
• Contact vendors to confirm the correct receipt and interpretation of purchase orders, expediting the issuance of order acknowledgments.
• Ensure the timely availability of shipping documentation required for the shipment and transportation of purchased materials.
• Review and approve the vendor Manufactured Data Book.
• Provide specialist support to the engineering department in reviewing vendor quality control documents, such as Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), NDT procedures, FAT procedures, etc.
• Thoroughly review purchase orders and contractual documentation to identify any discrepancies or misunderstandings that could potentially cause delays.
• Provide reliable and up-to-date information on the progress of the supply chain, highlighting any critical delivery issues.
• Ensure the correct issuance of Goods Receipts and the release of achieved milestones.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proficiency in using relevant systems for supply chain management.
• Sound knowledge of inspection procedures, test plans, and relevant industry standards.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Previous experience in inspection and expediting roles, with a strong emphasis on supply chain management and coordination.
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to detect discrepancies and potential causes of delay.
• Familiarity with quality control processes and documentation.
