Job Description

Saber is expanding!

Saber Law Group is a women- and minority-owned boutique employment law and litigation firm based in San Francisco’s financial district. Its brand of client service is in high demand, so we need to expand. Join us!

At Saber, you will find a team that values each member.

  • We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and discrimination of any team member.
  • We enjoy each other’s company. We frequently enjoy team lunches, dine-about-town, theater and arts, concerts, outdoor activities, community and sporting events.
  • Diversity of expertise and backgrounds matter to the core of Saber’s work as a legal advisor to clients, but also as a community with shared values and mutual respect.

Your well-being is our priority.

  • By design, Saber attorneys’ client portfolios are a manageable size to ensure they can devote their fullest attention to each client.
  • Saber is selective about the type and number of clients it chooses.
  • Clients have stayed with the same attorney for decades.

Saber expects the best and gives building blocks to the top.

  • Saber attorneys roll their sleeves up and are hands on from advice and counseling, discovery and deposition to trial.
  • Professional development is customized to suit your needs, interests, and timelines. The pace is yours to set.
  • Mentorship is in our DNA. Senior attorneys are battle-tested from board rooms to court rooms.
  • Saber teams are built from the ground up to meet a client’s needs. Each legal assignment and case is an opportunity to flex their expertise and expand their industry knowledge.
  • Getting to know our client’s business is not just an expertise-building exercise but an intellectual stimulation.

Benefits

Saber has competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid holidays and vacation, plus:

  • Flexible work schedules with telecommuting/work from home, and some in-office expectations.
  • Professional development paths to motivated and results-oriented employment and litigation attorneys.
  • Sabbatical leave

Our expertise covers all aspects of the employee-employer relationship. Our clients range from “mom and pop businesses” to Fortune 500 corporations and non-profit organizations in a wide range of industries.

Application procedure

submit your resume with a cover letter to [email protected], with title of position in the Subject line.

Depending on the role, the actual base pay offered may depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

Summer Associate Program

Saber Law Group is looking for two to three highly qualified rising 3L candidates interested in litigation and/or employment law for our Summer Program (10 weeks, June through August). In our Summer Program you will be given substantive research and writing assignments in a variety of practice areas including employment law, commercial litigation and employment advice and counseling, as well as opportunities to participate in client meetings, negotiations, court hearings, depositions, and other real-world law firm work experiences.

We believe in cultivating the talent of tomorrow. As a result, while we have a hybrid work model, Summer Associates should plan to be in office at least three days each week for mentorship and collaborating with attorneys and staff. Candidates will also be considered for part-time law clerk positions for the remainder of the school year. Those graduating candidates who have completed our Summer Program may also be considered for full time associate positions following passage of the bar examination. Summer Associates receive a $26,000 stipend paid over the course of the 10-week program. Part-time law clerks are paid an hourly rate of $65.00.

Candidates must have excellent law school and undergraduate academic credentials. Strong writing, analytical and communication skills are required. Law review, journal participation, moot court and/or demonstrated relevant employment experience are preferred. Candidates should have demonstrated connections or interest in starting their legal career in Northern California. Please submit your cover letter, resume, entire 1L and 2L first semester transcripts (unofficial is acceptable) and a brief writing sample. In your cover letter, please explain your interest in litigation and/or employment law.

We will begin accepting applications the January before each summer.
