Responsibilities:
Will be a Summer Student (SUM) for the Office of Technology, Infusion, and Strategy (1030). Under the guidance of senior staff member, will assist with the communication and messaging for JPL’s Chief Technologist. Task include developing content for the internal and external website, internal technology project branding and messaging, and developing consistent communication strategy within the office via various design assets such as executive communication decks, internal and external press releases and events.
Required skills:

• Must be enrolled for the fall semester at least half-time at an accredited college or university pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s degree.
• Understanding of graphic design and branding
• Strong computer skills, knowledge and experience with PowerPoint, Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign.
• Must be a Junior or Senior standing
• Must be able to work a 9/80 work schedule
• Must be able to work full-time for 8-12 weeks over the summer
• Must have a minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Ability to develop and execute communication strategy
• Strong attention to details
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Desired skills:

• Familiarity with cooperate communications structure
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Experience or knowledge of digital repositories
• Prior internship experience in communications, graphic/media design, journalism or related field
• Basic understanding of database structure

Hiring range for this job may be adjusted based on primary work location outside of Pasadena, California. This adjusted range will be provided to candidates by the Recruiter when applicable.
