Founder Profile

Arnav Kumar is a graduate of IIT Kharagpur. Leap is his second company and he has raised more than $30M in capital for his startups. Vaibhav Singh is a graduate of IIT Kharagpur. He spent his first 6 years at DeutscheBank, across Singapore & Sydney to manage a $3Bn flow book. He has built 2 fintech startups before, as a founding member of CapitalFloat and Incred, both pioneering businesses valued >$500Mn The Leap team has a fine balance of industry experience (edtech, fintech, study abroad) and technical skills (engineering, product, design)

Leap Advantage offers Indian students the opportunity to begin their foreign education in India at affordable prices, later transferring to the foreign university of their choice and getting the coveted degree.

We are seeking to onboard a Student Success Mentor who will help us ensure quality outcomes for students aspiring to study abroad. The Mentor will be responsible for hand holding students during the time they are in India working online towards their degree, supporting students in building their profiles for career readiness in the US and curating community led guidance for aspiring students through LA alumni and current students.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Develop an experienced network of mentors: Plan, and run a parallel learning track of curated guidance from professional mentors on different career tracks and skills required in each career.
  • Lead academic liasioning and guidance: Coordinate and facilitate interaction between US university and students, while meeting their academic needs to ensure student retention.
  • Provide end-to-end hand-holding support: Help students transition into the US, develop their profile during the academic program in India such that they are job-ready for the US job market.
  • Run a LeapAdvantage Job board: Setup a curated job-board for our students, and update it daily with liasioning support between interested students and employer’s contact person.
  • Train students on non-academic modules, conduct masterclasses and webinars to drive student engagement.
  • Curate community-led guidance: Engage and establish relationships with former international students and job-market aspirants to share their experience and advise our students on a regular basis.
  • Train students for career-readiness: Design and implement a weekly curriculum to impart necessary soft-skills to students to increase their effectiveness in navigating the job market.
  • Coach students: Interact with students in an interview format to train them rigorously in the selection processes on a monthly basis, or as per developmental needs of the student.
  • Develop written self-help resources: Source, structure and create resources to help prospective students develop a resume, create their profile, and make it effective digitally.


Skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication and interaction skills.
  • Experience in supporting students with their career plans and skill development.
  • Must be detail-oriented and flexible so as to wear multiple hats that can solve for the problems/needs of our students.
  • Bachelors’ degree at a minimum, and preferably with 2-3 years of experience in study-abroad counselling/student mentorship and overall 5 years of experience in mentoring/coaching.
  • A hands-on individual with the ability to take initiative, hustle, and build student capacity.
