We are looking to grow a high performing, engaged mobile development team that is passionate about delivering an excellent mobile experience for our users. We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Director to provide strategic direction to our QA leaders and SDETs by applying modern engineering principles to optimize our organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.

You will be working with a team of talented technologists and SMEs who bring a lot of energy, focus and fresh ideas that support our mission to provide value by seeing the world “Through Clients' Eyes.”


What you are good at


Supporting the development of strategic engineering objectives and activities.
§ Leading large complex projects and initiatives.
§ Designing and evaluating engineering processes and service improvements.
§ Establishing work quality criteria standards with the ability to drive them forward.
§ Applying ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution in complicated and/or novel situations.
§ Possessing a forward-looking approach to the resolution of functional issues.
§ Functioning as a subject matter expert in your field.
§ Integrating cross-functional teams to pursue innovation.
§ Inspiring and holding project team leaders and members accountable.
§ Leveraging broad knowledge to influence stakeholders.
§ Providing expert advice and counsel to senior executives.
§ Driving the future technology roadmap and influencing the company direction across multiple business units.
§ Direct technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
§ Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with other group’s development managers.
§ Verify application results by conducting system quality audits of technologies implemented.
§ Preserve software assets by ensuring the team’s adherence to disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
§ Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.

§ Experience managing Professional Services with both onshore and offshore teams.

§ Maintaining resource plans, forecasting and budgeting.
§ Experience in managing or implementing Automation Testing, Continuous Testing or CI pipeline integration using Web based or Native Testing Frameworks (Appium, XCUI or Espresso).

§ Model based shift left testing using executable requirements, architecture and design (Gherkin, Test Validation and Verification)

What you have


Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
§ Leader level hands-on software development experience.
§ 10+ years of software development management/leadership experience.
§ 5+ years’ experience running medium to large/complex IT projects with multiple internal / external dependencies.
§ 3+ years’ experience providing oversight to multiple Agile teams.
§ Ability to articulate designs and guide engineers and SDETs utilizing modern programming languages (ideally Swift, Kotlin for native mobile development).
§ 3+ years’ experience in Financial Services Industry a plus.
§ Experience as a technical leader in an organization. This includes coaching and mentoring, working through complex problems, and working with business partners to deliver an amazing experience for Schwab clients. You have qualities that engineers recognize and respect.
§ Demonstrated ability to define, drive and communicate strategy and vision and influence across the organization.
§ Experience growing high performing engineering teams.
§ Knowledge of the Atlassian suite of development tools.
§ Strong influencing, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify stakeholders, assess their needs and manage their expectations through effective communication.
§ Ability to independently manage things as a contributing member in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations.
