The Quality Control Manager is a critical member of the UMEC-CA team and embodies the UMEC WAY, by focusing on the Safety-Quality-Productivity for all projects and procedures. At all times following safety, HR, and company procedures in a respectful manner.
The Quality Control Manager will update and maintain all UMEC-CA’s brazing and welding SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and be responsible for supporting project operations by reviewing specifications, project requirements and submittals, providing the teams with the appropriate SOPs for the project.
The Quality Control Manager will travel to most UMEC-CA jobsites regularly (3 to 4 days per week) providing inspections and suggestions on installation quality, means and methods and potential productivity opportunities to the project team and management. It is the intent that this team member, by seeing all jobs, will have the ability and responsibility to help ensure a consistent quality installation across all projects.
The Quality Control Manager will work with the fabrication shops on improving Safety-Quality-Productivity in the shop environments. Embracing and recommending appropriate technologies to this end.
Compensation Range: 110K -130K
ESSENTIAL DUTITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Participate and coordinate internal/external audits schedule and requirements.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of QA-QC with Management and project teams.
- Partner with Estimating in the preparation of pre-qualification documents as needed and ensure that changes are communicated timely and accurately.
- Prepare the company’s QA-QC reporting documentation timely and in accordance with applicable established policies and procedures.
- Ensure QA-QC meet all federal, state, local and company regulatory requirements.
- Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
- Manage all QA-QC data processing to ensure timely and accurate reporting as required.
- Develop and strengthen business processes and internal controls.
- Lead and participate in special projects as needed.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The requirements listed below are representative of characteristics and demonstrated capabilities sought to perform this job successfully.
- Experience overseeing construction installation.
- Working knowledge of construction contract language and terms.
- Significant working knowledge of welding procedures, welding inspection and construction means and methods.
- BA/BS degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, five to seven years recent related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and construction experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient in Microsoft 365, Internet, MS Teams, Blue Beam, Key Styles, Viewpoint/Vista preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; walk on project construction sites complying with all safety protocols and Personal Protective Equipment; move within the office to retrieve files and meet with employees in their offices or conference room. Able to work at a computer (reading and keying) for extended periods of time. This role requires communicating verbally and in writing one on one, in small groups, as well as presenting to larger groups of employees.
