Sr Electrical/Power Electronics Engineer

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop new products and make improvementsto our current products. This is a hands-on position, you will be involved in leading prototypebuilding, system testing and verification. You will also help transition the designs to high volumemanufacturing partners in Asia. The ideal candidate is passionate about power conversion, solar andstorage technology. This role reports to the CTO and will be based out of San Francisco. What YouWill Do

Responsibilities

? Participate in design and development of digital and analogue electronics for control of high-power electronics systems.

?Product level electrical design including component selection, circuit design,subsystemdesign and schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium.

?Prototypes bring-up and debugging, hardware bug tracking, functional verification, and signalcharacterization.

?Work with product management to distil product requirements into engineeringspecifications.

?Generate electrical design specifications for subsystems and oversee end-to-end productintroduction activities.

?Develop and execute hardware and system test plans and perform tests for pre-compliance,environmental and reliability.

? Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize system level electro-mechanical designincluding thermal management.

? Participate in DFMEAs, Design for Quality (DFQ) and Design for Reliability (DFR) and assistis defining process objectives.

?Prior experience working industrialization process, supporting factory to source and qualifyfactory test fixtures. Work directly with Contract Manufacturers in Asia and componentsuppliers to ensure quality deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

? Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years’ experience.MSEE preferred.

?Extensive hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrumanalysers, electronic loads, and signal generators.

?General understanding of embedded controllers for power and digital control theory.?Prior experience with AC/DC power conversion e.g., motor controllers, UPS, Solar & batteryinverters.

? Experience in development of digital and analog interfaces for PC-based test systems, especially (Labview, Matlab, Python).

? General understanding of signal conditioning and conversion (ADCs, filers); Discretesemiconductor design (FETs, BJTs, Diodes); analog, digital or mixed-signal design, operatingamplifiers; A/D and D/A converters, and filters.

?Familiarity with EMI/EMC design and mitigation techniques is an advantage.

?Familiar with international safety and EMC regulations, such as UL, ISO, IEC FCC, and NECrelated to product safety.

?Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere.? Great oral and written communication skills- Team player with high integrity
