We are seeking a talented Senior Editor to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Editor, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and champion 10-12 captivating titles per year, with a focus on commercial genre fiction. We're looking for someone with a knack for identifying stories with a speculative edge and a vision for their publication journey.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our team of creative minds, including designers, artists, and promotional experts, to bring each title to life. From acquisition to publication, you'll serve as the main point of contact for our esteemed authors, providing dedicated care and ensuring their manuscripts evolve into captivating books.

Your Role
Actively seek out and evaluate potential acquisitions with a clear vision and target audience in mind.
Cultivate relationships with a wide network of literary agents and authors.
Collaborate with authors and agents on creative development, from conceptualization to line edits.
Shape the imprint's editorial strategy by evaluating submissions and identifying growth opportunities.
Shepherd each book through the publication process, from acquisition to transmittal to publication, serving as the main point of contact for authors and agents.
Serve as the book's chief project manager, ensuring deadlines are met and advocating for each title both internally and externally.
What You Bring
A minimum of 3-5 years of editorial experience, including acquiring commercial and/or genre fiction.
A genuine passion for science fiction, fantasy, and horror, with a deep understanding of subgenres and communities.
A finger on the pulse of pop culture, with a knack for identifying and anticipating cultural trends.
The ability to articulate a clear, audience-focused publication strategy for each project.
A strong record of working closely with authors to shape manuscripts on multiple levels.
Experience shepherding manuscripts from acquisition to publication, collaborating effectively with various teams.
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with a persuasive and passionate approach.
Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage priorities, and take charge as a proactive project manager.
A commitment to building strong relationships with agents and authors, providing top-notch author care.
