Job Description

LHH Recruitment Solutions is exclusively representing and assisting Littler Mendelson search for a new Sr. Director - Talent Business Partner. This is a newly recreated position and available in the following locations: Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Newark, Phoenix, San Francisco, Miami and Kansas City. The Sr. Director - Talent Business Partner has the option to work remote, along with about 40% travel requirements. Pursuant to Colorado, California and New York City regulation, the annual salary range for this position is $200,000 to $270,000. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Builds and develops talent growth, performance management, and succession plans that are tailored to meet business unit needs.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.
  • Occasional travel
  • Provides guidance and input on practice group, business unit, and corporate restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the Talent group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Partners across talent team to develop terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Consults with management, providing guidance when appropriate.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Provides policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the general counsel as needed/required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to firm management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Conducts meetings with respective regions, practice groups and business units to understand its business priorities, culture, and challenges.

  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: Bachelors' degree

Preferred: Advanced Human Resources degree and Certified Human Resources credentials.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of talent or human resources business partner experience resolving complex organizational effectiveness and employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
