Summary


The Sr. Director IT Business and Delivery reports directly to the CIO and is responsible for developing, executing, and delivering the IT strategy for The Greenbrier Companies. This includes developing, managing and overseeing the implementation of the IT portfolio and providing guidance and support to the IT organization in alignment with The Greenbrier Companies strategic business objectives. This position is responsible for facilitating the strategic alignment, planning, prioritization and value realization of enterprise-wide portfolios, programs, projects, and activities which involves working with business stakeholders to understand their needs, developing portfolio and program plans, managing resources, setting priorities, and tracking progress.


Duties And Responsibilities


To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.


  • Stays informed on the latest trends in IT, and identifies and implements new technologies that can assist The Greenbrier Companies in achieving its strategic business objectives.
  • Oversees the implementation of the IT portfolio, including ensuring that programs and projects are completed on time, on budget, to the required quality standards, and are aligned with overall strategic business objectives.
  • Manages the IT portfolio including prioritizing programs and projects, allocating resources, monitoring progress, providing executive leadership updates, and managing portfolio changes.
  • Represents IT to the business by building, managing, and cultivating relationships to ensure IT is aligned with business strategic objectives.
  • Provides guidance and support to the IT organization, including developing and delivering training, coaching and mentoring staff, resolving issues, and leading the delivery team resources.
  • Manages direct report lead resources in the ePMO, enterprise architecture, application development, and infrastructure delivery domains.
  • Acts as a key contributor to The Greenbrier Companies strategic planning on a recurring basis.
  • Recruits and retains appropriate talent to enable the successful implementation of the IT strategy.
  • Establishes and builds out the ePMO (Enterprise Project Management Office) to support The Greenbrier Companies business and IT projects.
  • Develops and executes the IT strategy for The Greenbrier Companies in alignment with the overall strategic business objectives.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications


  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • PMI certifications in Program Management (PgMP) and Risk Management (RMP).
  • Ability to communicate professionally, verbally and in writing, to a variety of stakeholders and audiences.
  • Experience developing and implementing an ePMO tailored to specific needs.
  • Ability to lead a team of directors with direct reports.
  • Ability to travel as needed up to 25%.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lead portfolios, programs, and projects
  • 10+ years’ experience in IT leadership roles with demonstrated success, as well as a deep understanding of business strategy, information technology, business and digital transformation, and portfolio management.
  • Experience in organizational and digital transformation.
