The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the international organization for public-private cooperation.
The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
Why we are recruiting
Today, leaders are confronted with the greatest collective action problem of our time: to address the collapse of ecosystems and the devastating effects of climate change whilst propelling a resilient transformation of our economic, social and natural systems on an unprecedented scale at speed. This is an endeavour that is complex, ambitious and far-reaching, requiring unprecedented collaboration and cooperation, imagination and innovation, capability and commitment.
While innovation is expected to play a major role in climate mitigation and industry decarbonization, the development and diffusion of low-carbon technologies are too slow in most sectors and countries to stabilize the climate. There are also a range of barriers to incentivising emissions reduction to help speed-up and scale the transition – such as dormant patents for clean technology and lack of connectivity with funders and investors for high-potential solutions ready to scale. The World Economic Forum’s Climate Strategy Team works with public and private sector leaders undertaking bold action to decarbonise the economy across several sectors.
