IAM, a market leading analysis and data platform that focuses on the business of intellectual property (IP), is seeking a motivated and aspiring young reporter to generate unique, high-value content focused on US patent and trade secret litigation trends and strategies.
Working closely with the Deputy Editor and drawing on data and conversations with market contacts, the successful candidate will be an ambitious reporter keen to identify and deliver analytical editorial content, build a world-class contacts book and represent the brand in the market.
Prior legal knowledge and familiarity with IP are a plus but not required. We do expect you to have a nose for a story and an ability to get your head around complex topics. You should also have an international mindset and be ready to learn quickly.
This is an exciting opportunity to join as a key member of an industry-leading editorial team, build a strong portfolio of stories, and develop your career in a supportive and encouraging environment that takes personal and professional growth seriously.
Candidates with a journalism degree are preferred, but we will consider applicants with other degrees if they have the ability to demonstrate an instinct for news and to write clearly and concisely.


Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the deputy editor to identify important stories
  • Working with internal stakeholders to build the brand and content offerings
  • Helping to compile and analyse data, and produce content for editorial projects
  • Planning, sourcing and producing exclusive content
  • Representing the brand in front of a senior business audience

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
