Role Responsibilities


This role is responsible for working with sales colleagues and other internal stakeholders to drive the sales process for a set of ESG & Climate products or services across a number of key use cases for the Asset Management and Asset Owners. Key activities include identifying and qualifying prospects, initiating new sales activity and managing sales cycles to closure. Additionally, the role requires the assessment of client needs and providing client-specific strategic guidance and product overviews.
  • Responsible for managing a territory and bringing on new relationships within our ESG & Climate business
  • Introducing leads to other business units within Moody’s Analytics where appropriate.
  • Determining the needs of the prospect in each single sales opportunity by asking probing questions, understanding specific issues facing the prospect. Use knowledge of industry practices and insight to link prospect needs and challenges to the appropriate Moody's solution.
  • Leading, advancing, and negotiating sales to closing
  • Leveraging existing client relationships, collaborating with internal resources and stakeholders, and engaging in senior client face-to-face consultative selling
  • Maintaining significant meeting activity
  • Meeting/exceeding sales targets through a combination of:
  • Identifying and selling to new clients affiliated with the existing relationships within the portfolio
  • Preparing and delivering quality presentations, facilitating discussions around tailored training requirements and representing the organization’s strategic value add to prospects.
  • Working in conjunction with Moody's Analytics team of relationship mangers, solutions specialists and new business officers to introduce and sell new products to Moody's clients.
  • Managing sales cycles using coordination and communication skills to involve other Moody’s sales and product specialists where appropriate.
  • Managing the full sales process from lead to contract for existing relationships for both new opportunities, with active reporting of the pipeline and forecasts to management.
  • Generating new business sales revenue from selling our Moody's Analytics ESG & Climate product and services
  • Developing a deep, practical understanding of Moody's Analytics ESG & Climate capabilities and affiliated product sets. This will involve organizing and attending senior level client meetings, obtaining and detailing requirements, assessment of client needs.


Qualifications


  • Must be able to demonstrate existing networks with senior executives, particularly, Chief Investment Officer / Chief Risk Officers, Chief Sustainability officers, and Learning & Development professionals from investment firms.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision, yet integrate appropriately with the team and other areas within Moody’s.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues and develop solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels, with both internal and external parties.
  • Experience of working with credit risk measurement and management solutions, preferably gained through (e.g., credit origination, credit risk analysis and modelling, credit portfolio management, and managing banking projects) would be desirable
  • Ability to work in a consultative, needs/solutions approach.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in investment segment alongside experience with ESG & Climate uses cases.
  • Ability to demonstrate and grasp the factors driving our clients' businesses, so that appropriate advice and guidance can be given with regards to achieving their learning and development goals.
  • Attaining and maintaining a high level of product knowledge.
  • Willingness to travel as the role will require visiting many prospects and clients throughout the United States.
  • Ability to work pro-actively, multi task and work to tight deadlines in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Familiar with modern computer applications (MS Office, Salesforce, Internet)
  • A Bachelors degree/MBA (or equivalent), preferably in an economics, finance, math/statistics/accounting, or real estate discipline would be desirable
  • Excellent presentation and oral communication skills and comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
  • Excellent time management/organizational skills. Able to multi task and adhere to short deadlines.
  • Experience of selling solutions to large financial institutions.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $129,000 to $187,000, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
