SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and experienced mid-level software engineer for the Experience Management organization for our Disney Streaming apps (Disney+, Hulu and Star+). As an engineer on this team, you will work with a team of peers to build state-of-the-art curation and enrichment tools that brings delightful experiences to millions of our viewers across the globe

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leave systems better than you found them
• Develop and maintain our internal toolset and APIs for curation, observability and enrichment to bring delightful experiences to the viewers of D+ and Hulu
• Participate in an agile development environment and deliver features within the expected timeframe
• Collaborate with Product and Program managers to break down and implement tasks for the tools
• Foster and maintain effective communication channels with your team members
• Contribute to building state-of-the-art experience management systems that help improve engagement on our Disney Streaming platforms
• Participate in system architecture reviews that help us build a sustainable platform with minimal technical debt

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with proficiency in at least one of the following languages - Java, Python, Kotlin, and/or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 3 years experience working with Java and Spring backend technologies on RESTful APIs
• Demonstrated success in being part of a team problem-solving and communicating with empathy and respect
• Minimum of 3 years experience working with React, Angular or similar frontend technologies
• Effective communication skills

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $109,800 to $151,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
