Job Description

Social Media Intern

This is a social media internship for current students needing credit only.


You will be working closely with the social media manager to create content for new Mic Drop Music articles, as well as posts about music news, events/shows, etc. Quick turnaround time is important, as writers will send over their published article on their assigned day and the accompanying post will go live that same evening. We also have a new video podcast, Mic Drop Music Talk, that requires weekly promotional content.


You will have a lot of creative control in this position – there are "creative content" days where you can create posts and stories about anything music-related. Photoshop and Canva is a plus for this,but is not required. You will be responsible for proofreading and fact-checking all content before submitting to the social media manager for approval.


Requirements

MUST BE:

A current college student using this internship for credit

A laptop or access to WiFi

Can commit from August 14th- December 4th (16 week Fall semester internship)

MUST HAVE:

Strong interest in pop culture and music

Solid understanding of various social media platforms (specifically Redditt and YouTube)
