Senor Manager Operations Produce(100% Remote/Virtual)

This position is virtual/remote which means the work can be completed from anywhere is the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for development of produce quality operations in distribution centers (US Foods and 3rd Party PRCs) through training on quality policies, procedures and education by assisting in problem resolution when required. Create a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open and insure efficient workflow.

• Analyze produce operational data across the entire enterprise from vendor to distribution center to customer. This includes spoilage, credits, rejections and other quality related data to determine causes and recommend changes to improve.

• Monitor and ensure food safety standards are met across the enterprise, working with FSQA as needed to address any gaps. Ensure the facilities and equipment is in constant compliance with all Federal and State OSHA and HACCP regulations and requirements.

• Responsible for US Foods Fresh Check system that logs quality inspection data, including capturing feedback from users and work with the vendor on future enhancements.

• Collaborate with Region and market Field & Operations leaders to ensure compliance with produce storage, handling and shipping policies and procedures.

• Engage with vendors on inbound quality performance and opportunities to maximize shelf life and increase inbound quality.

• Subject matter expert for all aspects of product quality including training, market condition updates, and provide education to internal stakeholders through a variety of channels and forums including written, verbal, and formal training sessions.

• External: Works closely with vendors, customers, suppliers and regulatory agencies
• Internal: Works closely across all levels across the enterprise, up to and including ELT Members

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Primarily office or home office environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 7 years of experience within the produce industry required.
• High level of attention to detail required.
• Proficiency required in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Microsoft Outlook.
• Analytical skills required.
• Must be able to provide fact-based recommendations across various levels of management.
• 50+% Overnight travel
• Solid quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to work in a team setting, drive team results and support change management within the organization.
• Must possess the ability to operate successfully in a matrix environment and work effectively across multiple groups and levels.
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills required.
• Demonstrates a high degree of motivation, the ability to prioritize and self-direct, strong business acumen and sound interpersonal skills.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills required.

• Produce product knowledge preferred.
• Training and process documentation experience preferred.

• Experience in produce operations or Category Management preferred.

EDUCATION

• Four-year college degree in agriculture, business or other relevant degree, or equivalent experience required.

The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $107,000.00 and $143,200.00. In New York City, the expected compensation for this role is between $119,600 to $159,500. In California and Washington, the expected compensation for this role is between $113,600 and $151,500. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus.
