Position Summary:

• AutoCAD Plant 3D CAD Design / Civil 3D Design-drafting with the Cordoba Project team; work may include front end design-engineering, substructure research/identification, detail design, quality assurance review, construction support and startup involvement, as-built drawings and close-out activities; ensure and maintain compliance with applicable company and client standards and procedures; attend meetings with clients, vendors and governing agencies; prepare facility drawings and details; prepare station and facility plans, sections and details; include piping and conduit routing and foundation locations as directed by the project mechanical, electrical, controls systems and civil engineers.

Essential Functions:

• Routine engineering/design work assigned by the design supervisor or project engineer
• Preparation of working drawings using computer-assisted design (CAD) from rough sketches, verbal instructions, and engineering data (approved drawing templates, previous drawings, and drawings from clients) considering agreed project schedule.
• Works closely with project engineers to develop design drawings for projects
• Attends project design reviews
• Organizes; plans; and executes project drawings
• Performs administrative tasks
• Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs
• Prepare details to specify dimensions, materials, and processes.
• Ensure the detailed drawings are prepared and transferred to the assigned Supervisor in a clear and timely manner.
• Initiates/communicates work with other disciplines
• Review plans, details, and specifications before handing over to the assigned Supervisor for his/her final review.
• Provide general notes per supervisor’s instructions without grammatical errors.
• Must be diligent to constantly seek improvement of drafting skills through self-study.
• Relies on instructions and pre-establish guidelines to perform functions of the job

Required Education, Skills, Training and Experience

• AutoCAD Plant 3D
• AutoCAD Civil 3D (Added Bonus)
• 1 - 25 years of design experience with pipelines and facilities.
• Southern California Gas/San Diego Gas & Electric/PG&E project experience is preferred.
