Job Description
What to Expect The Chemical Materials Coordinator is the process owner for chemical materials inventory management, purchasing, coordination, and transfer materials between production areas and external warehouses. Ensures inventory levels are sufficient to meet production schedules. Collects and analyzes data on current orders, production levels and develop forecasts to estimate future demand for materials. The Chemical Materials Coordinator also is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies, standards, preferred practices, and guidelines to ensure the transfers are handled in a safe manner. What You’ll Do
  • Ensure Resin Bottles/Materials are available – Implement cycle counting program to ensure all needed resin bottles are in stock when needed and ordered for on time delivery as needed. Identify single source vendor / find us other vendors/ Supplier redundancy & reliability. Ability to execute field rounds, Vendor /Supplier Performance Management. Escalate /Engage vendors on quality/equipment issues
  • Monitor/Track Calibration for Chemical level Instruments – Set up. schedule to monitor/track instrument calibrations. Use the necessary tools to administer the needed adjustments
  • Coordinate Waste/Material Pickup – Develop schedule to ensure all waste/materials are picked up and delivered to designated areas safely and in timely manner. Drives Emergency Order Coordination/PO Submission – Develop safekeep plan with contact information for vendors in case emergency orders/PO’s need to be generated. This needs to ensure timely communication and execution of purchases in emergency situations for needed chemicals/materials
  • Order Storage Materials – Generate purchase orders to ensure we have the needed storage materials onsite and stored safely. Order Specialty Gases - Generate purchase orders to ensure we have the needed Specialty Gases onsite and stored safely
  • Material Handler Coordination – Work with Facilities Material Handlers to ensure they know when and where to pick up and deliver site chemicals and gases. Lead Location 5S Implementation in Chemical Work Areas – Implement 5S system in chemical areas. The 5S system developed should maximize the efficiency, safety, and productivity in those work areas
  • Monitor Site Chemistry Levels/Process Chemistry Orders – Conduct daily walks to check all site chemistry levels are adequate to specifications for daily operations. Generate purchase orders to vendors for site chemistry on time delivery
  • Monitor Bulk Gas Levels/Offload Coordination – Conduct daily walks to check gas gauge levels to ensure bottles/tanks are at normal operating specifications. Unload and load bottles/tanks in effort to get to specified areas of use
  • Report Weekly Material Updating - Set up Weekly Material Tracker to report cycle count information to ensure min/max levels for materials are accurate and maintained. Ensure FIFO asset management is driven – Coordinate plan and drive with material handlers to ensure FIFO (first in first out) processes are being followed to manage assets usage
  • Leads Material Cost Reporting/Budget Tracking – Set up Monthly/Quarterly Budget Tracker to report Cost/Spending trends and expenses. Own Vendor Communication/Escalations – Actively work with vendors and develop relationships that will ensure communication is thorough on PO tracking and delivery timelines
What You’ll Bring
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and implement concurrent projects or activities to effectively meet business needs
  • Innovative, open-minded, collaborative, and a team-oriented attitude. Strong work ethic: ability to work long hours, evenings, and weekends as needed by the projects.
  • Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil Engineering or degree in Industrial Distribution or similar disciplines with 5 or more years in material/warehouse distribution.
  • Advanced Sharepoint Experience. Experience maintaining and reporting for Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Excellent Communication Skills, Strong demonstration of Accountability, Strong Customer Focus, Capability to work and communicate with different levels of the company organization
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills. Demonstrated problem solving ability in cross-functional environment.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills. Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Sharepoint, MS Teams, OneNote, PowerApps, etc.)
  • Understands the function of Maintenance and Operations Workflow Process, possess Capability to provide troubleshooting in the procurement/materials processing workflow.
  • Required – High School Diploma or Associates degree and a minimum of 5 years in chemical materials coordination role
  • High level of knowledge in the Chemical Coordination and Materials Movement field, Compete understanding of Inventory Control processes
