Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Tax Manager - Domestic will use broad tax knowledge to handle and lead key aspects of Cargill’s federal income tax activities with respect to Cargill’s domestic activities. In this role, you will ensure compliance with key federal income tax provisions and other regulatory requirements including P&L reporting. You will use tax planning opportunities, address risk areas, and provide training and operational mentorship within the tax department as well as collaborating businesses. You will also aid in the development and implementation of a tax control framework, strategize on external audits, and provide tax advice. Key Accountabilities
Lead a team of tax professionals handling complex tax issues with respect to Cargill’s domestic activities.
Lead development and implementation of complex technical tax planning solutions to capture tax benefits and mitigate risks.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and drive any resulting tax technical determinations and revisions to the compliance and P&L reporting process. Coordinate with tax planning teams to ensure all tax compliance obligations with respect to M&A activities are satisfied.
Work collaboratively with other tax compliance and advisory leads and other corporate functions to support the broader tax function in developing, defining, and implementing global tax strategies and projects.
Generate and compile evidence in response to tax audits and information requests from tax authorities.
Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching, and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.
Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of six years of related work experience
Proficient in US Domestic tax rules with strong working knowledge of ASC 740, General business credits, and tax provisions enacted as part of the TCJA
Ability to travel up to 20% Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of Federal tax experience
Three years of supervisory experience
Experience with a big four accounting firm, major law firm or multinational company
CPA or Master of Business Taxation
Experience working in a wide range of industries with varied tax profiles (i.e., manufacturing, merchandising, transportation, financial products, etc.)
Excellent tax research skills with the ability to quickly conceptualize and communicate tax rules
Familiarity with broader scope tax issues like the Corporate Alternative Minimum Tax and OECD Pillar 2
Familiarity with green energy credits included in the Inflation Reduction Act
Experience drawing on multiple data sets to develop complex tax models
Experience presenting and communicating complex tax issues and solutions to both tax and non-tax leaders

This position may be performed remotely in the United States.
The expected salary for this position is $140,000-180,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
