Job Description
Senior Talent Acquisition Partner
Farmington, CT
This position is responsible for working with a high level of independence to ensure the overall success of The Jackson Laboratory's Talent Acquisition (JAX TA) team’s activities including sourcing, screening, interviewing and recommending candidates from internal and external sources for non-exempt and exempt positions. Partners with managers to identify skillset, experience, and characteristics of preferred candidates and oversees selection process. Maintains detail-oriented electronic records of all candidates within the institutions electronic application software for compliance with state and federal regulations and reporting requirements. Completes necessary written documentation in a timely manner to satisfy record-keeping requirements. Works in coordination with other internal Talent Acquisition Partners and external recruiters and is required to represent the company in a pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable manner. Contributes to building a team culture that is open to change and continuously striving toward an exceptional customer experience with continuous improvement in process efficiency. Prior Research Recruiting Experience highly preferred
This role is hybrid/remote 2-3 days per week onsite to Farmington, CT - local candidates only please.
Core responsibilities are as follows:
  • Represents JAX professionally at career fairs, job fairs, networking events, etc.
  • Proactive Talent Pipeline Development Strategies and Talent Pipeline Management.
  • Partners with hiring managers to develop and execute best practice talent acquisition strategies in a timely manner.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Detailed documentation, record keeping and compliance with AA and EEOC and other state and federal requirements.
What distinguishes the incumbent for each level is the years of experience, level of leadership and impact, number and complexity of special projects, specialized knowledge and areas of expertise, and proficiency in problem solving.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
External and internal customer service and relations:
  • Learns & follows all current JAX TA processes and policies consistently.
  • May establish relationships with third party search providers to provide enhanced Talent Acquisition support as needed for strategic positions.
  • Provides thoughtful, thorough and professional customer service for all candidates toward an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Meets established TA team goals and expectations.
  • Develops talent acquisition plans with hiring managers/supervisors.
  • Provides counsel, expertise and execution in all areas of TA (e.g. internal job posting, external job posting including electronic web sites, advertising, etc.).
  • Maintains thorough, accurate, up to date records within the electronic applicant tracking system.
  • Ensures data integrity, accessibility and seamless handoffs between recruiters as needed.
  • Partners to identify characteristics of preferred candidates and oversees selection process including / ensuring that quality reference interviews have been conducted.
  • Works collaboratively with all other TA and HR colleagues across JAX.
  • Strives to ensure an exceptional customer experience for all hiring managers.
  • Establishes, cultivates, and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with hiring managers/supervisors in order to understand and fulfill business units, positions and TA needs.
  • Is proactive in ensuring a continued influx of highly motivated and talented employees to further strengthen the organization.
TA Pipeline Management:
  • Works in a high-throughput environment to review resumes, CVs and/or job applications for all candidates.
  • Presents qualified candidates to hiring managers.
  • Participates in all on-site candidate interviews.
  • In conjunction with hiring supervisor / manager, determines appropriate pay rate based on evaluation of applicant’s experience and education related to the job along with consideration of internal factors including equity with like positions throughout the organization.
  • Makes job offers, establishes start dates, stays well informed with up-to-date on information on wages and salaries, employee benefits, relocation policies, and general Human Resources policies.
  • Phone or video interviews and presents assessments to hiring manager.
Proactive TA Strategies:
  • Includes development of TA materials for presentations and job events.
  • Promotes The Jackson Laboratory at colleges, technical schools, networking events and job fairs and seeks out diverse organizations to partner with and develops effective working relationships.
  • Develops new and creative TA strategies to attract qualified candidates and build a pipeline for future openings.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • 6+ years relevant TA/HR experience. Prior research recruiting experience highly preferred
  • Creative at problem solving, following all standard procedures and best practices, thorough at all levels of TA and proactive developing and leading special projects.
  • Must be particularly refined and influential
  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Senior Level may act as a lead in absence of Supervisor

Education Required: High School Diploma or GED
Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Experience Required: 8 years
Experience Preferred: 6 years
Salary range is $65,432 - $112,472 depending upon years of experience
