Position Summary:


The Senior Specialist, Patient Advocacy is responsible for supporting ongoing initiatives and, special projects that support the Patient Advocacy department’s annual plan. In addition, this role provides administrative, contracting, and grant submission support to the Patient Advocacy team. Reporting to the Director of Patient Advocacy, this position also supports the team’s external outreach and engagement at patient advocacy and medical events and conferences.


Responsibilities:


  • Support coordination of internal meetings such as an advisory board meetings, roundtable discussions and taskforce meetings (i.e. identifying speakers, facilitating communication, scheduling meetings, managing contracting and honorarium payments, assembling meeting agendas, and helping draft run of show documents)
  • Support and advance logistics and help oversee virtual and in-person events and conferences including exhibition booths, event dinners, etc. Some of these initiatives will require travel and on-site support.
  • Play an integral role in annual planning and budget development and maintain tracking and budget spreadsheets for the department.
  • Provide research, writing and project management support on special projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Write, edit and support the development of internal and external presentations for department leadership.
  • Provide support with the Rare Disease Patient Advisory Council.
  • Work with Patient Advocacy VP and designated Director of Patient Advocacy to support Travere’s charitable grants process and committee meetings.
  • Draft educational materials for patients.
  • Act as the Advocacy Team’s Contract liaison, utilizing internal finance and legal systems to create and enroll new suppliers, supporting vendors and contractors through contract execution, and submitting invoices and expenses.


Education/Experience Requirements:


  • Minimum of 4 years of patient advocacy experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry (including consulting agency) or at a patient advocacy organization required. Rare disease experience highly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related Life Sciences or health communication discipline. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.


Additional Skills/Experience:


  • Successful record of creating and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical paths.
  • Ability to travel 10%-15% domestic and internationally.
  • Well organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional teamwork environment.
  • Ability to adapt to modification and changes to project plans, demonstrating flexibility to implement new strategies and tactics to accommodate these changes.
  • Strong professional experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry or patient advocacy organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Compensation: Our competitive compensation package includes a combination of both cash compensation (base pay and short-term incentive) and long-term incentive compensation (company stock), designed to recognize, retain, and reward employees.


Target Base Pay Range:


$86,300.00 - $110,000.00
