How can you make an impact?
McGraw Hill is actively seeking a Senior Social Media Manager to join its global Growth Marketing team. The Senior Social Media Manager will establish social media presence and grow follower count for our two brands for medical students. In this role, your focus will be increasing brand awareness, driving demand (including offers and incentives), and growing multi-million-dollar eCommerce revenues through effective use of social media channels.

Working as part of the Growth Marketing team, you will understand personas, research, and target customer groups. You will effectively engage through well planned A/B tested programs across multiple social channels that deliver high engagement and outcomes.

You will be reporting to the Director of Sales Growth & Marketing and work remotely from your home office.

What you will be doing:
  • Conceptualize and oversee production of content for a variety of social media channels (e.g., Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit etc.) that will push prospects through the sales funnel to point-of-sale online.
  • Consistently exercise independent judgement and discretion and ensure full compliance with company policies on privacy and social media standards.
  • Improve upon our own benchmark performance metrics and deliver better-than industry standard performance metrics through tested innovative organic and paid social campaigns that contribute to the eCommerce sales revenue budget.
  • Collaborate with the Content Marketing, Editorial, Product and Global Marketing teams to identify target groups, channels, and campaigns for key products and personas.
  • Leverage social management tools to track and monitor audience engagement and campaign success in order to ultimately report on and deliver consumer insights.
  • Develop social media strategy to drive B2C brand and product awareness, student engagement, and B2C subscriptions.
  • Creating original content, working with in-house design teams, and collaborating with agencies on content creation.

We are looking for someone with:
  • Experience with Sprout Social or other social media management tools and in-depth knowledge of social media platforms
  • Applicants with relevant, non-traditional educational backgrounds or work experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in Paid Social a plus
  • Self-starter with creative thinking, willingness to test and learn, and desire to stay on top of trends in social media and industry
  • Interest and/or experience in the medical or science field is preferred
  • 5+ years of digital sales & marketing strategy or community engagement experience (SaaS or tech or education industry experience a plus). ECommerce sales experience preferred.
  • Superior writing / editing / storytelling skills are required; Video production experience is a bonus
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, high level of organization and attention to detail, and strong ability to multi-task
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communication, or a related field

The pay range for this position is between $80,000 - $95,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
