The Senior National Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing large online and brick and mortar retailers. Primary focus for the position will be creating and executing strategic plans for existing and new account program growth as well as finding, securing and growing into new accounts. We’re seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of National Chain Store sales account manager experience and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
The position will report directly to the Director of Sales and will involve implementing sales plans to maximize overall corporate sales and profit goals. This individual should show initiative, and can develop sales programs for assigned Accounts through creative and innovative planning.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Forecasting account product needs and achieving budgeted sales goals at established profit margins.
- Create and implement short/medium/long-term account strategies in conjunction with management and corporate objectives.
- Air travel/overnight travel required
- Weekly account specific POS analytics, and appropriate action plan, maximizing sales, minimizing risk by SKN. communicating to replenishment managers, building and securing long term vendor retailer relationships.
- Work collaboratively with other teams in the company as required
- Identify buyer influences, recommended trends & product needs, converted to our categories.
- Direct responsibility for identifying, cultivating, growing and managing key account programs in specified sales channels in the United States.
- Participate as requested for internal line reviews with product development and senior management.
- Analyze weekly sell-through reports from to maximize upside business, minimize risk, recognize trends, establishing POS multiples, and associated management of account ladder plans and subsequent orders.
- Establishing and maintaining deep relationships at each Key Account, including but not limited to buying planning/replenishment, assistant buyers, merchandising, and management.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of specific account compliance requirements and the ability to communicate to appropriate departments, while “quarterbacking” to consummate sale.
- Develop and coordinate promotional marketing programs with key strategic retail partners for new product launches during every day & holiday/seasonal promotional selling seasons
- Interfacing with finance to insure receivables are paid accurately and on-time.
- Knowledge of company’s ERP system, ability to manage account data maintaining accurate data, resulting in timely, retailer compliant shipments and invoicing. Consistent updated log of all account activities, progress and results vs budgets.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
- 5+ years in mid / mass account sales. Experience within the consumer product industry necessary; toy industry and/or strong mission driven brand experience preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and seamlessly change direction
- A proven track record delivering financial results
- Demonstrated ability to assimilate into a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture
- Demonstrable experience working with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's Degree
- Proactive, highly organized, attention to details with efficient time management skills
- Strong creative, communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Positive team player attitude
- Experience developing and executing promotional sales programs with major retailers
