Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

SENIOR MEDIA PLANNER

Summary of Position:

Primarily responsible for planning, buying, and overseeing plan execution that translates the clients’ social media objectives into cohesive strategies across multiple social platforms. This position will also assist in planning and overseeing execution of digital media campaigns that are consistent with approved strategies and budget.

Essential Functions:

• Establishes media objectives, strategies, and tactics for digital media campaigns

• Develops and presents digital media plans using syndicated research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, industry experience, and digital best practices

• Translate client Social Media objectives into paid media campaigns

• Understands all elements of the planning cycle and clearly communicates stages to internal teams and various clients

• Manages the flow of media related client issues based on changes in direction, goals and budgets; is aware of the need to create solutions and resolve problems

• Monitors performance of digital media campaigns and develops analysis of results for clients

• Lead team of Planners in day-to-day operations

• Oversee development and QA of Social and Digital campaigns

• Provides research for and writes POVs

• Responsible for overseeing the successful trafficking of all creative units to partners and manages the custom approval process with clients

• Comfortable working within the suite of Digital Planning tools to pull research requests for current and prospective clients

• Management of plan deliveries, billing, and invoices

• Assists in data gathering of industry trends and emerging media

• Cultivates excellent relationships with digital sales community

• Maintains thorough, up-to-date knowledge of digital trends as well as client’s business

• Uses knowledge of key developments/social movements/emerging media in the digital space to provide client with added-value insight

• Ability to plan creatively and seek out new digital media opportunities and trends both in site choice and program

Organizational Relationships

Position Reports To: Digital Media Supervisor

Qualification & Skills

· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college

· Minimum 4 years’ Media experience and/or Account management in a media agency or media sales role

· Experience managing social media-focused accounts and campaigns

· A background in managing entertainment, gaming, or mobile client(s) is preferred

Discipline Specific Skills

• Must have 4+ years media planning experience in a digital agency

• Experience working in an integrated fashion with Planners, account and creative teams

• Experience managing a team of junior planners and coordinators (minimum 3 people)

• Familiar with various forms of digital pricing models (CPM, CPC, CPV, CPA, CPCV, etc.)

• Knowledge and understanding of tools and resources such as Comscore, MRI, Kantar, etc.

• Experience working within Social platform UI’s: Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, Snapchat

• Ability to use third party ad servers to traffic media campaigns and pull reports, experience with Doubleclick (Google Campaign Manager) a must

• Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word

• Google certification a plus

• Exceptional written, verbal and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees and attention to detail and follow-through skills

• Exposure to traditional media platforms (TV, Print, Out of Home, and Radio) a plus

Salary Range $75,000-85,000
