Job Description

The Senior Manager of Compensation & Benefits leads the C&B team with 3 direct reports with the responsibilities of Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, HRIS, Headcount Planning & HR budgeting. This person ensures that all programs are competitive, sustainable, scalable & have an impact on the long & short-term performance of the Company. This person is also responsible for establishing & effectively communicating HR policy & procedures.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee commission calculations/system maintenance for the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and Saint Barth’s.
  • Manage compensation plans to meet regulatory compliance and governance/audit requirements, consulting with legal resources and staying abreast of developing legislation and its potential impact
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the compensation and benefit programs, processes, and practices, and recommend revisions to ensure equitable and competitive programs.
  • Lead ongoing benefits strategy assessment, development, and implementation
  • Conduct analysis of jobs, salaries, variable pay and other rewards to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the pay practices
  • Partner in the design of effective compensation-related communications to managers and employees within the Total Rewards framework
  • Provide thought leadership on current and emerging total compensation trends and issues and react to new local and federal legislation
  • Provide guidance and direction in developing retention plans for key talent
  • Oversee the completion of monthly, bi-annual, annual reporting for LVMH and internal departments
  • Providing ad hoc C&B reports as requested by Central Team in Rome or LVMH
  • Partner with Finance on reviewing personnel budgets versus actuals
  • Benchmark and develop other local or mandatory and discretionary programs
  • Collaborate with LVMH Shared Service Payroll team to ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll in the United States and Canada. Collaborate with HR Generalist and LATAM Payroll Vendors to ensure accurate monthly and bi-monthly payroll.
  • Responsible for the annual salary increase/merit program, annual and quarterly bonus (where applicable) calculations and promotion packages.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to simplify and standardize programs and processes

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to serve as strategic business partner and advisor to senior executive leaders, business leaders and other key stakeholders.
  • Willingness to be both strategic and tactical. Highly developed analytical skills – ability to define and measure plan performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Spanish, Mandarin, French, Portuguese, or Italian speaker a plus.
  • Comfortable dealing with senior management, outside ERISA counsel, vendors, auditors, and consultants.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and project management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree preferred. Master's a plus.
  • Experience in a global company highly desirable.
  • 7-10 years compensation or finance experience; A minimum of 2 years in a management role.
  • Proven project management skills to move projects forward, bias for action.
  • Previous compensation and/or benefit vendor management preferred.
  • Proven experience managing a team, providing direction, coaching opportunities, career development, and annual appraisals.
  • Ability to influence, deliver results and collaborate across functions and teams.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to convey complex concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve issues.
  • Leads with enthusiasm and positive demeanor to inspire and motivate direct reports, colleagues, department, and senior management.
  • Complete understanding and technical expertise of broad-based compensation programs and Benefit Plans.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and listening skills to best ascertain needs and partner to build solutions to address them, while adhering to enterprise strategy and compliance requirements.
