Job Description

Aurex Group is working with a global top tier industrial company seeking a Senior Logistics Manager/Logistics Department Lead to join their team.


This is a newly created position requiring someone to develop nationwide trucking and logistics platform from scratch. The key focus will be trucking as well as other modes of transportation including rail.


Responsibilities

  • Must have expertise and relationships within the Trucking industry with ability to source, negotiate rates, and monitor carrier performance
  • Design and implement a Logistics function from scratch. This includes setting up and managing origin/destination logistics for multiple industrial sites across the US to include feedstocks (primarily via truck) and output (primarily via rail).
  • Development and implementation of third-party transportation and logistics strategies
  • Develop the logistics function, strategically designed to improve efficiencies and maximize cost savings, as well as standardization and management of the program.
  • Help drafts formal transportation supplier agreements and contracts•
  • Actively engage with haulers and operational leadership


Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills
  • 10-15+ years experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Track record of negotiating and setting up logistics frameworks and carriers
  • Organized
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability and/or track record of setting up logistics processes/procedures from scratch
