Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal support to the Company concerning contracts and other daily operations on which legal advice and services are necessary or desirable. Such legal supports include drafting, revising, and negotiating legal documents in English;
  2. Provide practical, effective, and solution-based legal advice for daily business. Conduct investigation and research of relevant laws;
  3. Responsible for company compliance affairs, including data privacy, export controls, sanctions, FCPA, anti-money laundering, and other compliance work.
  4. Provide training to Company staff on USA laws and regulations.
  5. Handle disputes, litigation, and government investigation.
  6. Implement compliance policies and establish compliance procedures.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  1. JD or master's degree in law, with USA bar qualification (Michigan bar preferable).
  2. At least 10 years of relevant working experience (legal & compliance) in an MNC company or a reputable law firm.
  3. Familiarity with new energy industry or products - especially construction of the factory, purchasing of material or machines, and labor-related issues - would be advantageous.
  4. Proficiency in Chinese or experience in a Chinese company would be a plus.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. A good team player but able to work independently.
