Senior Graphic Designer Job Summary

The Senior Graphic Designer creates designs that visually communicate our brand and information that promotes our company, supports our retailers, and explains the value and use of our product. This position serves as a brand steward; they are hands on and have the ability to conceptualize, create and produce a broad range of work to exceed expectations. This position will report to the VP of Marketing. This role is 100% in-office in our beautiful Ladera Ranch office.

The SmartStop marketing team supports the entire company and works on a wide range of projects which provides a never-boring work environment and a multitude of opportunities to create impact. This position will play an important role in maintaining that culture and bringing fresh, exciting ideas to the table.

Salary: starting at $95,000 + annual discretionary bonus

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Web pages and images
• Guides, eBooks, and case studies
• Collateral including flyers, brochures, posters, pamphlets, etc.
• Digital and print ads
• Email campaign designs
• Connect with executive management team, internal stakeholders, project requestors, and other colleagues assigned to the project to understand the needs, help develop concepts and direction, and ensure work is solving for the initial need and requirements
• Recommend improvements to software, tools, and processes that will aid in creative quality and eliminate inefficiencies
• Presentations
• Participate in kickoff sessions for large or ongoing projects and contribute to the ideation of content to support project execution
• Animations and videos for use in presentations and OOH advertisin
• Other ad-hoc projects as needed.
• Create high-quality visual concepts for projects while championing our established brand guidelines in multiple forms and mediums including but not limited to:
  • Presentations
  • Digital and print ads
  • Web pages and images
  • Email campaign designs
  • Collateral including flyers, brochures, posters, pamphlets, etc.
  • Guides, eBooks, and case studies
  • Animations and videos for use in presentations and OOH advertisin
• Update the Brand Guidelines document to reflect the approved branding for new media, as directed.
• Collaborate on a regular basis with the marketing team to receive and give constructive feedback on work

Must Possess These:

• Self-starter and can manage multiple projects and priorities
• Value feedback and are team-oriented
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to understand and design for complex campaigns
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs
• Have acute attention to detail

Qualifications Needed

• Collaborative in nature
• Strong interpersonal communications skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to organize and meet deadlines
• Ability to work with project management software and collaboration tools (e.g., monday.com)
• Expertise with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
• Demonstrated experience visualizing creative concepts
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• 5+ years of extensive and relevant work experience on a creative team, either in-house or agency
• An outstanding portfolio with a proven foundation in design, storytelling, creative strategy, and concept ideation
• Ability to take ownership of large multichannel projects from start to finish

Bonus Points for:

• Knowledge of HTML
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premiere, with an understanding of motion graphics principles and video editing principles
• Knowledge of 3D rendering
• Knowledge of XD, Figma, or other prototyping applications
