Position Summary:


The Senior Global Diversity and Social Impact Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) and community engagement processes and initiatives. This role frequently consults with HR and the business to design integrated solutions which support the organization’s needs. The position builds capabilities of the HR team, including embedding equity and inclusion into organizational policies, processes, and practices. The role engages with leaders and associates across the organization to champion workforce strategies to develop, sustain, and evolve DE&I and social impact within the organizational culture. They will use their expertise to create and implement actionable, sustainable, and measurable solutions to the organization's DE&I and community engagement priorities.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Keeps abreast of changes and trends in DE&I, community engagement and social impact, and consulting practices; surfaces meaningful recommendations for improvements that will positively impact the organization and its culture.
  • Implement DE&I strategy, supporting the organization's implementation of strategic DE&I action-orientated initiative, goals, and measurement in partnership with the leadership team.
  • Evaluate existing initiatives, programs, and policies and recommend additions and enhancements to promote a more authentically diverse and inclusive culture and workforce.
  • Uses internal HR data (associate survey, performance, HR metrics, etc.) and appropriate analysis to anticipate and communicate current and emerging needs. Identifies patterns, trends and measures of effectiveness and proactively offers recommendations in alignment with diversity priorities. Leverage data to inspire action, drive outcomes, and reinforce accountability throughout the organization.
  • Serves as an internal consultant to senior leaders, HR Business Partners, and their teams to ensure that the organization incorporates DE&I practices to ensure operations at the highest level. Conducts interventions as needed including strategic planning, tactical and project planning, business problem solving, facilitation, instruction, materials development, and performance analysis.
  • Uses change management processes and tools to facilitate sustainable change within the organization.
  • Support all aspects of company and associate giving campaigns and volunteer programs to ensure success both internally with associates and externally with the community. Track key metrics and provide regular impact updates.
  • In collaboration with key internal stakeholders, support the execution of community partnerships that are consistent with diversity, equity and inclusion and social responsibility objectives and are aligned with business strategies.
  • Support the organization's implementation of strategic DE&I initiatives, including fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Foster a culture where every associate has an equal opportunity to succeed in their career, regardless of their background, and promote a culture of belonging that enables associates to bring their authentic selves to work each day confidently.
  • Provide oversight and structure to Associate Resource Groups to inform, engage and build momentum around the organization's commitment to a culture of DE&I at all levels within the organization.
  • Collaborate with the communications to collect content for storytelling on social media, web content, and other communication channels pertaining to inclusion, volunteerism, community programs and events.
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition to implement equitable recruiting and hiring strategies to attract associates from diverse backgrounds. Support a recruiting and diversity pipeline strategy.
  • Partner the leadership team to influence, educate and guide actions relating to DE&I strategy; mobilize leaders and associates to drive a culture of inclusion and belonging for all.
  • Supports HR Business Partners globally to evaluate talent needs and propose recommendations for closing the gaps and build capabilities; Designs and supports the implementation of DE&I strategy and community engagement initiatives; Facilitates learning events for HR Business Partners.
  • Identifies, selects, and manages relationships with 3rd party consultants and vendors responsible for creation of content and tools. Negotiates pricing, delivery, and service terms for contracts.
  • Develop strong collaborative internal partnerships that will build DE&I strategy by embedding DE&I into culture, operations, and ways of thinking, influencing leadership to take a refreshed and evolving approach that will make the organization better.


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:


Required:


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business, Education or related degree


Experience: 7-10 years minimum professional experience in DE&I, community engagement, training, HR or other related field


Preferred:


Education: Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology


Experience: Prior experience designing and delivering talent management programs in a large organization. 10+ years preferred. Experience in the following areas highly preferred:


  • Demonstrated success in using influence and collaboration to drive initiatives forward with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge and understanding of business and human resources principles and a working knowledge of the theories and principles of talent management, performance management, organization development.
  • Leadership skills to oversee and effectively deliver on projects and commitments to internal clients.
  • Ability to organize and manage complex projects over an extended period; identify, evaluate, and secure appropriate resources; and apply resources in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ability to build capabilities in groups and/or specific individuals in core subject matter expertise such as DE&I strategies, social impact strategies, etc.
  • High-level knowledge in DE&I and community engagement practices and application.
  • Expertise in performance analysis tools and techniques (e.g., needs analysis, root cause analysis, flow charting/ process mapping, job roles and responsibilities mapping, developing performance measures, etc.).
