Job Description

The Florida School Boards Association, Inc. (FSBA) is a nonprofit corporation representing most school board members in Florida. FSBA has been the collective voice for Florida school districts since 1930 and is closely allied with other educational and community agencies to work toward improvement of education in Florida.

We empower our associates to make a difference in the lives of Florida’s school boards, and in turn, Florida’s public school students.

TITLE:

Executive Administrator

GENERAL PURPOSE:

To provide the best possible services to FSBA members and the FSBA Chief Executive Officer. This position will work collaboratively with all areas of the association, and is an outward-facing, customer service role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Manage and coordinate correspondence, meetings, materials, and travel arrangements for the Chief Executive Officer

b) Manage and coordinate correspondence, meetings, materials, and travel arrangements for the Executive Officers, as needed

c) Manage and coordinate meetings of the Board of Directors, including elections, agendas, materials, minutes, and logistics

d) Manage and coordinate meetings of the General Membership, including agendas, materials, minutes, and logistics

e) Provide administrative support, including tracking of travel details and expenses, research, and data collection for Superintendent Search function

f) Manage all aspects of the policy manual including coordination with committees for amendments and revisions

g) Manage and coordinate meetings of the Nominating Committee, including elections, applications, materials, and logistics

h) Manage and coordinate the Board of Directors’ Leadership Development Training and Meeting including onsite management, agendas, materials, and minutes

i) Provide administrative support for and coordination with any national collaboration of state school boards associations, on events, communications and membership

j) Assist with planning, preparation, and onsite service for association conferences and events, as needed

k) Provide administrative support for Strategic Planning function, including managing digital platform module, tracking, and reports

l) Provide staff support to Association committees, as assigned

m) Prepare, proofread and edit materials, as needed

n) Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Chief Executive Officer

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

a) Bachelor’s degree

b) Five or more years of job related experience

a) Strong computer skills with extensive experience in Microsoft Office suite and meeting management software

b) Knowledge of Florida school district governance structure

c) Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and digital communication skills

d) Ability to take official meeting minutes

e) Ability to accurately proofread and edit professional materials and presentations

f) Good organizational skills

g) Ability to perform several job functions simultaneously

h) Ability to work under pressure with time-sensitive deadlines

i) Knowledge of and experience in conference planning and preparation

j) Capacity for adapting readily to varying work assignments

k) Occasional overnight travel

Pay: $54,452.00 - $63,922.00 per year
