Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Director of Procurement is responsible for all procurement activities across the enterprise, including direct and indirect procurement. This includes building a long-term sourcing strategy; developing practices, processes, and policies; leading a team responsible for operational and tactical execution; developing relevant KPIs; developing a robust vendor selection, negotiation, and evaluation practice; and engaging with existing vendors to improve service delivery/manage costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop relevant KPIs and metrics required to run the function with rigor.
• Manage leadership stakeholders and present at executive management forums.
• Provide strategic leadership and guidance as we build the function and set the course for sourcing across the company.
• Lead the team through problem resolution including root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Lead team efforts to mitigate risks and resolve issues quickly as they arise.
• Build and lead a procurement team consisting of multiple subordinate leaders, responsible for both strategic planning and tactical execution.
• Develop enterprise procurement processes, practices, and policies.
• Develop and manage a robust vendor/partner selection, evaluation, and negotiation process.

Department Summary

The Enterprise Procurement organization is a new function at Guardant Health, bringing together a number of different planning and purchasing activities to develop a single team focused on direct and indirect procurement across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to influence across multiple organizations on a global scale
• A minimum of 12 years in the supply chain, planning, and/or procurement roles
• Experience building and leading a procurement function in a high-growth, high-complexity global company
• Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline
• Experience in biotech, med device, or pharma

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $222,953 to $301,000. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
