HOURS


Full-Time, Exempt: Must be available 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, though schedules may vary day to day. Lovin' Spoonfuls operates with a hybrid work schedule, meaning employees must be in the office a minimum of 2-3 days a week, and are able to work from home on the remaining days.


Position Summary


Lovin' Spoonfuls seeks a full-time Senior Director of Development to help us significantly grow our individual giving, major giving, cultivation, and stewardship efforts. As a key member of the leadership team and a senior leader on the Development team, the Senior Director of Development will help the organization achieve its mission by shaping and implementing a successful fundraising strategy and plan.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage a portfolio of individual donors and family foundations, and lead cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts, in conjunction with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and CAO
  • Supervise the Events Lead whose responsibilities include oversight of all Lovin' Spoonfuls fundraising events; the leading, planning, and execution of event logistics before, day-of, and post-event, including conducting post-event analysis, evaluations, and recommendations, all event details, payment logistics, and budget management, and 3rd party fundraising activities
  • Work with the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to develop, and drive a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet strategic organizational goals, and regularly monitor and report on progress
  • Participate in weekly Leadership Team meetings and contribute to the organization's direction, scope, and culture
  • The Senior Director of Development will lead a team of 2 full-time staff, serve on the leadership team, and work in collaboration with the full development team, Board members, and other external advisors to achieve fundraising goals
  • Support the mission and vision of Lovin' Spoonfuls as the organization advances into the next phase of the strategic plan
  • Networks and maintains relationships with funders, community partners, and local organizations
  • Supervise the Development Coordinator whose responsibilities include ensuring development operations best practices, accurate and timely gift processing, donor contact, and regular reconciliation between Development and Finance teams
  • Lead the fundraising team in identifying a robust portfolio of individual and corporate event sponsors, including work with the Board, event fundraising committee, and honorees to identify and cultivate new individual, corporate, and foundation donors


Qualifications And Experience


  • Experience leading a team to achieve results through supportive and inspirational supervision of staff
  • Proven experience raising $1-2M in a fiscal year through individual donor contributions, and/or being a contributing member of a team responsible for raising $4-6M+
  • Willingness and ability to work occasional evenings
  • Experience managing the coordination of major fundraising events
  • Experience securing major gifts, as well as donor stewardship
  • Experience in building and managing a portfolio of individual donors and family foundations
  • Excellent relationship building (and management) skills, verbal and written communication skills, time management, and attention to detail
  • Proven track record of revenue growth and ability to manage a budget, and deliver on leadership expectations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing and materials management is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Some tasks outside the office may be required (attending meetings, attending events, shipping materials, etc.).
