Position Summary


The Senior Director of IT Service and Infrastructure will consult and collaborate with business leaders and IT teams to understand and prioritize technology requirements to meet operational and strategic objectives. Manage and coach team through concept to implementation of technical solutions as well as lean existing business processes and functions. This position will work in close partnership with the director of IT Security in the prioritization, design and implementation of solutions to protect AtriCure’s information assets. The role will also have the responsibility for managing infrastructure operations as well as IT support services. Keeps company up and running in IT areas such as but not limited to computer networking, telephone administration, cellular phone services, and desktop support.


Essential Functions Of The Position


  • Lead a team that defines and supports the global IT infrastructure of the company.
  • Responsible for the purchasing and daily upkeep of other office equipment
  • Responsive, act accordingly with urgency
  • Serve in a leadership capacity around authentication best practices and solutions for reliable and secure access to systems
  • Define and succinctly articulate the strategic IT infrastructure roadmap in order to effectively deliver change
  • Position organization to support company growth through organization evaluation, role alignment & process improvement to generate internal productivity and enable resource reallocation.
  • Ability to be strategic and communicative as well as detailed and focused depending upon the situation
  • Participate in IT departmental strategic planning
  • Provide critical reporting and analysis of project and program performance and make recommendations for enhancements, cost savings initiatives and process improvements
  • Work closely with IT Security team in defining and implementing IT Security Roadmap
  • Provides vision and leadership to facilitate the development of cross functional work teams and participate in the on-going development of new projects and technology
  • Collaborates with other departments to improve quality of through project implementations and process improvements.
  • Coordinate and direct activities of the team to include direct supervision of team, preparation and monitoring of department budget, forecasting, resource allocation and workforce management model, development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
  • Preparation and monitoring of various management metrics and reports
  • Perform other duties and functions as deemed necessary under the supervision and direction of the VP, Information Technology
  • Lead design, implementation and operation of a Secure but robust Operational Technology environment
  • Ensures that the disaster recovery program is current, viable, and that all information systems are backed up properly and the effectiveness tested
  • Actively participate and partner with external vendors to secure effective and efficient vendor contracts and delivery models, manage SLA’s, and review of contractual metrics and deliveries
  • Responsible for Cloud migration vision and server management regardless of compute architecture
  • Define global network architecture, ensure operational continuity & optimal cost position
  • Ensures that all information systems are properly maintained, in good operational order and is able to support the current and future business needs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all employees have the IT resources for their jobs
  • Responsible for the purchase of all IT related equipment and manages vendor relationships for IT equipment
  • Maintain and update all software and hardware licenses and maintenance agreements including renewals. as necessary
  • Validate completeness of project plans, backlogs
  • Oversee IT Service desk operations
  • Participate as a member of the IT leadership team to develop strategies and goals for the department and organization
  • Responsible for the desktop infrastructure to support employee productivity, security and compliance
  • Manage team to achieve cross functional capabilities with project development and execution.
  • Develops action plans for growth and obtains approvals to purchase new equipment for business growth and development
  • Communicate with stakeholders

Basic Qualifications


  • Leadership and coaching capabilities with the ability to lead teams, set objectives, identify high performing team dynamics and delegate effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree required or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Ability to travel 10%
  • Supervision experience
  • Ability to read technical specifications
  • Ability to partner across levels in the organization to initiate, develop and maintain effective working relationships

  • 15+ years of experience in a comparable leadership position

Preferred Qualifications


  • Technical Certifications in Networking and System Operations
  • Solid understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies
  • Experience in Cyber Security Methodologies and Practices
