Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
Under general supervision, provides primary support for the USC School of Medicine-Columbia (SOMC), Office of Information Technology, and SOMC satellite offices. Performs operations necessary to ensure optimum functioning of the computer network and assist students, faculty, and staff in their use of the network. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Systems; or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in system network design, office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, or processing of information in a data processing environment; or equivalency. Knowledge of wireless devices. Experience to include working with user support in a computer network environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to install pc hardware/software and resolve problems of computers on the School of Medicine network. Ability to provide courteous customer service to a diverse clientele, including faculty, staff and students. Ability to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations.
