It Technician Jobs

(This is a primarily office-linked role in our downtown Cleveland office.)

We are doubling down on refining and executing a vision for a more robust and mature IT stack. For our IT Technician, that means bringing curiosity and continuous improvement to each and every task. This role reports directly to the Manager, IT.

Who You Are

When you receive a task or ticket, your first thought is “how can I solve this problem so that I don’t receive this request again in the future?” You’re naturally curious, perhaps a tinkerer in all things IT. Perhaps you’ve set up your home network in an interesting way and are the “IT Help” go to for your friends and family.

You recognize that in order to dig in and get things done autonomously you’ll need to ask questions and learn the ins and outs of the organization. You probably enjoy experimenting and are excited to be part of an iterative, entrepreneurial, startup organization.

What You’ll Do

You’ll provide excellent customer service to the team at Fund That Flip, collaborating with the IT team to prioritize and make decisions. You’ll do this by…

• IT Help Desk Tickets
• Managing all aspects of the employee experience with IT, including:
• Physical IT Assets
• Access Management
• Automation, Systems, and Procedures
• Vendor Relationships
• Maintaining a tight relationship with technology leadership
• Maintaining a strong point of view on best practices on IT given market trends

Day in the Life

Each day begins with a review of your slack notifications, email, and the help desk ticket queue for new or open tickets or new hires starting in the next few weeks. After glancing through and prioritizing those actions, you’ll connect with the IT Manager for a daily standup.

Throughout the day, you’ll work with urgency and intention, collaborating with the team to come to the best solution, taking into account the employee experience, security, compliance, and financial efficiency. This may mean taking phone calls, providing remote or on-site support, setting up hardware for new hires, and thinking strategically about how those solutions set us up for more success next time.

Your First 90 Days in the Role

Your training will begin with some Fund That Flip basics (who are we, what do we do, where does the role fit into the org). This is delivered through a partnership between our People Team and the IT team. You’ll be set up with the hardware and tools needed to execute at a high level from the very beginning.

You’ll accomplish early success in the role by immersing yourself in team best practices and absorbing essential team information. We’ll provide the context and knowledge which, coupled with your curiosity and urgency, will support the accelerated actualization of the anticipated impact you’ll have in the role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration
• Experience in IT at a startup
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language
• Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets)
• Track record of executing on technical projects (greenfields and legacy) on time and on-budget
• Experience in a customer or employee-facing environment
