It Systems & Infrastructure Engineer

Please Note: Ideal candidate will be located in Ohio due to locations of most customer datacenters be located in the surrounding 6 states. Work is primarily remote but travel to datacenters may require overnight stays on occasion during scheduled implementation dates.

We are seeking a talented IT Systems & Infrastructure Engineer who can lead others through design, configuration, and implementation.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Ability to work with a team of supporting subject matter experts on larger scale projects.
• Plans, designs, builds, operates, and maintains systems and technology infrastructure.
• Oversees the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of the organization’s customer-based technology systems.
• Estimates capacity and reliability needs for servers, network, and storage devices and software.
• Exhibiting a calm and collective mindset when working in team environments
• Nutanix experience with foundation, installation, setup, and configuration of Nutanix hosts, expansion of hosts and clusters.
• Understanding of networking, cabling, power requirements in association with supported products.
• Works with project managers to coordinate and plan project tasks and resources.
• Strong experience with VMWare ESXi, installation of ESXi, and configuration of necessary ESXi components, v-switching, licensing, access, and controls.
• Experience working in enterprise Datacenters performing rack and stack.
• Provides recommendations and guidance regarding best practices on future or existing systems.
• Plans, updates, reports, and tracks project completion in various ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow, and Jira.
• Assists with Technical Solution Documentation (TSD) writing.
• Able to follow ITIL Foundational change management protocols adhering to customer environment and controls for production changes.
• Collaborates with customers during discovery, design, test, build and production handover.
• Ability to assist with writing implementation plans, testing plans and backout plans to be executed during maintenance/change windows.

To apply for this role, following skills, experience and qualifications are required:

Mandatory skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, Or equivalent education and years of experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience working with virtualization technologies, routers, switches, firewalls, storage systems (SANs), and with data backup and recovery solutions.
• At least one industry recognized certification preferred (i.e. Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Server MCSA, VMware vSphere VCP, Nutanix)

Key Technical Skills:

• Understanding of DHCP, DNS, Active Directory
• Linux Server (RedHat REHL preferred)
• Nutanix and general storage area networks to include supporting infrastructure, such as power, cooling, connectivity (Fiber, iSCSI).
• VMWare ESXi (6.x, 7.x)
• Microsoft Windows Servers (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022)
